Improve standards in reading, writing & numeracy across the school.

What are we aiming to do during the next 12 months?

We will aim to:

·  Make reading/writing/numeracy across the curriculum a priority in all classes and promote them

positively

·  Share ‘good practice’ of literacy/numeracy across the school

·  Provide bespoke training for staff on specific aspects of literacy & numeracy

·  Provide extra practise for some groups of pupils

·  Re-establish Story Sacks for Reception pupils

·  Provide Reading Workshop & Numeracy Workshop for parents

·  Make sure our policies are reviewed to reflect the importance of literacy/numeracy

·  Clarify our expectations of how we deliver high quality literacy & numeracy

·  Purchase good quality, challenging books which engage the interests of all readers.

Improve the quality of teaching & assessment

What are we aiming to do during the next 12 months?

We will aim to:

·  Share and clarify our expectations to ensure consistency

·  Develop teaching triads for staff to observe good practice

·  Ensure each key stage has a senior leader to drive school improvement

·  Make sure our policies are reviewed to reflect the importance of teaching & learning and assessment.

·  Continue to monitor and scrutinise pupils’ work, pupil data and planning documentation

·  Ensure that pupils are fully aware of the processes used to improve their work.

To strengthen strategic leadership

What are we aiming to do in the next 12 months?

We will aim to:

·  Appoint a Deputy Head teacher

·  Appoint a TLR post holder to lead Key Stage 2

·  Develop a more robust Senior Management team (SMT)

·  Use new SMT to ensure quality assurance & further improve self-evaluation process

·  Reallocate leadership roles within the school to ensure staff skills are fully utilised.

·  Ensure Key Stage leaders drive school improvement

·  Key Stage leaders to ensure all staff receive effective CPD (Continuing Professional Development).

Improve self-evaluation and planning for improvement

What are we aiming to do during the next 12 months?

We will aim to:

·  Further develop our self-evaluation processes so they focus on the most important areas for improvement

·  Further develop the distributed leadership within the school to aid evaluation and quality assurance

·  Clarify our self-evaluation procedures and systems

·  Ensure rigorous evaluation of teaching and its impact on pupils’ standards.
