Position Brief

To establish and manage a co-coordinated and motivated childbirth education service delivery model to consumers via the Parent Centres NZ Inc structure and network of Centres; via effective management and leadership of the Childbirth Education function; deliver core and contracted Parents Centre Services in accordance with organizational strategy.

This will include the development and management of a change process in conjunction with the CEO and the negotiation and growth of regional and national contracts for service provision

To establish and manage a cohesive and effective people and performance management structure and process for Child Birth Education

Develop processes and structure to deliver an effective network of qualified Child Birth Education providers to Parents Centres NZ Inc

Work cohesively to develop a matrix management structure enabling Centre involvement and consultation in t he Child Birth Education process

To deliver return and value to key stakeholders

Likely qualification(s): Business, Communications, technology or Administrative Diploma or similar; operating in an NGO or not of profit organization environment; midwifery qualification; Human resource Management with people and performance is the key competency required for the role

Minimum level of operational experience: 5 years in related or similar operational environment.

Responsibilities

·  Have input to, deliver and implement the Childbirth Education strategy on behalf of Parents Centres NZ Inc

·  Develop structure, implement systems and maintain and improve people and performance management processes for child birth education service deliverers

·  Meet Parents Centres management and administrative requirements, including monthly reporting, record systems, budgeting and other such systems as required by the organization

·  Manage the Child Birth Education cost centre

·  Develop and deliver in consultation with national support team and Centre’s growth strategies for child birth education

·  To maintain an effective and efficient CBE service delivery.

·  Develop strategic direction for professional child birth education qualifications, further professional development and the associated delivery mediums: i.e. Polytechnics; face to face; distance learning; interactive technology based learning

·  Act as a relationship touch point to manage and develop relationships with designated strategic partners in provision of education and training services to PARENTS CENTRES, and all related professional bodies to include managing the NZCOM relationship and PARENTS CENTRES CBE Professional Advisory Group

·  Provide support systems for CBE both administratively and in the areas of supervision, training and development, motivation, recognition and performance appraisal. Effective people management of the CBE team to include all generally accepted best management practices such as performance appraisals, incentives and development opportunities

·  Effective leverage of technology across the CBE service delivery unit

·  Ownership and accountability for setting and meeting annual financial budget in conjunction with the CEO

·  Development of funding initiatives to support the CBE cost centre

·  DHB service delivery contracts; management and negotiation and development in conjunction with the CEO and Independent Chair

·  Developing in conjunction with the CEO a brand which increases the profile of core CBE service delivery both internally and externally to the organization
