Free shower facilities at Whitin Community:

Due to Hurricane Irene many of our surrounding towns are without electricity and/or water. The Whitin Community Center is offering the use of their shower facilities FREE of charge to all in need in the Blackstone Valley. Please check in at the front desk before proceeding to the locker rooms. The Whitin Community Center is committed to enhancing the health and well-being of individuals and families and building a strong community in the Blackstone Valley.
· Brimfield, MA Recovery Center
The First Congregational Church has opened its Recovery Center for those impacted by Hurricane Irene this past Sunday. Ice and water are available at the Center which is also serving daily breakfast and lunch as well as delivering lunches to worksites. The Center will consider serving daily dinners if there is sufficient need. Also available through the Center: access to telephones, computers, internet and email service for those in need of communication devices. Center has also made arrangements for shower facilities and needs regarding propane for portable tanks.
