PAPER- I (Theory): - HISTROY & THEORETICAL ASPECTS OF FOLK DANCES OF

PUNJAB

TIME: 3 Hrs (For Examination) Total Lectures per semester = 65

Total Marks : 80 Internal Assessment : 20

Pass Marks : 28 Pass Marks : 7

INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER –SETTER/EXAMINER

The Paper Setter will set a total of nine questions in all, four questions from Section-A & four question from Section-B carrying 12 marks each. Section C will be the ninth compulsory question carrying eight short type questions having 4 marks each. The candidate will attempt five questions in all selecting two questions from Section-A and two questions from Section-B. Section-C will be the compulsory question.

2.  Detailed study of Folk dances of Punjab in erst-while Punjab (Before 1966)

3.  Detailed study of costumes, Jewellery, Make up used for the following Folk Dances of Punjab:- Bhangra, Giddha, Kikkli & Luddi

4.  Define Classical, Folk and Tribal dance forms and do comparative study.

5.  Relation of Folk Dances of Punjab with Society

6.  Relation of Folk Dances of Punjab with Folk literature.

7.  Contribution of Government of India, Government of Punjab and different private Institutions for the development of Folk dances of Punjab.

8.  Contribution of the following scholars, Exponents of Folk Dances of Punjab

INSTRUCTION FOR THE PAPER- SETTER/ PRACTICAL EXAMINER

1.  The Practical examination will be conducted by a Board of Examiners, which will consist of Head of the Department/ his or her Nominee, Internal Teacher and External Expert as per the decision of the Syndicate taken on 25.10.91 (Para 23).

2.  There should not be a group of more than five students in a practical class.
