Scope

To lead Inter Terminals’ Group Reporting function and oversee the ‘record to report’ accounting function, and to develop and improve Inter Terminals’ Group Reporting and ‘record to report’ processes, procedures, policies and systems.

Main duties

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Lead and manage the Group Reporting function, delivering all Inter Pipeline Ltd. (IPL) monthly, quarterly and annual group reporting requirements to the required standard and timescales
  • Ensure delivery of a central IFRS technical accounting function and develop and maintain required IFRS group accounting policies
  • Lead and manage UK statutory reporting, delivering required statutory reporting and ensuring compliance across Inter Terminals with all internal and external regulatory requirements
  • Lead and develop the Group Reporting team (Group Reporting Manager, Group Reporting Accountant and Management Accountant) to enhance their skills and develop them professionally
  • Act as primary contact for IPL on (1) all group reporting matters and (2) all CSOX matters, facilitating CSOX [design, testing and roll-forward] work across Inter Terminals, and leading and co-ordinating work across Inter Terminals to remediate all business CSOX issues arising
  • Act as primary contact for the UK external auditors, facilitating delivery of all external audit requirements
  • Lead and co-ordinate work to define, analyse, develop and improve consistent ‘record to report’ processes, financial controls, procedures and policies across Inter Terminals
  • To be responsible for the group reporting/consolidation system, and lead and co-ordinate work to develop and improve finance systems across Inter Terminals
  • As required, deputise for the Finance Director and carry out other duties

Post requirements

1. / Essential /
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA)
  • At least 5 years’ recent experience of working in a large accountancy practice
  • Very good knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
  • Strong IFRS financial accounting experience including preparation of consolidated accounts under IFRS
  • At least 5 years’ experience of leading a finance team
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Degree level qualification
