Finance Officer Job Description

Post: Finance Officer

Responsible to: Chief Executive

Salary: £24170 (pro-rata)

Hours of Duty: 18 hours per week

Location: Giffnock, East Renfrewshire

Basic Functions:To provide financial support to the Chief Executive and Board of Directors of Jewish Care Scotland (JCS)

Main duties:

  • To provide financial records, computer records and book-keeping procedures to support the work of JCS
  • To develop, monitor and maintain existing manual and computerised financial data files
  • Preparation of salary information for external payroll provider
  • To maintain records of loans and grants associated with the work of JCS
  • To initiate and maintain a record of invoices and persons to be paid by JCS
  • To maintain a record of invoices and accounts submitted to JCS and, in liaison with the Treasurer, provide cheques for the payment of creditors
  • To monitor systems of Petty Cash
  • To process Direct Debits and Standing Orders
  • The preparation of statistical reports relating to donors
  • Any other duties that may be allocated by the Chief Executive.

Persons specification:

Essential:Experience with Sage Line 50

Excellent skills in Microsoft Excel

Experience in financial systems

Good communication skills both verbal and written

Numerate

Highly motivated

Excellent team working skills

Approachable and reliable.
