Post:Child Family Support Network Community Worker.

Employer Body:Bray Area Partnership (BAP).

Reporting to:BAP Community & Education Programmes Coordinator.

Location:Greater Bray area and environs.

Terms & Conditions:Full-time (35 hours per week)fixed-term contractposition to end of December 2015, with a six-month probationary period, having a starting salary of €32,351 plus an employer’s contribution to an approved pension scheme. A continuing contract of employment may be offered for the period post December 2015.

Job Function:

To operate as a member of the BAP Community and Education team in the context of the direct involvement in the development of the local Child and Family Support Network and Meitheal Framework in line with the Tusla National Family Support Strategy.

Principle Duties and Key Tasks:

  • Undertake community outreach and networking in order to make contacts and engage at local level towards developing working relationships with target group families in geographical communities and communities of interest.
  • Assist in ensuring that there is a continuum of support available to targeted families that will include organisations delivering a range of interventions, from universal services to more focused and intensive provision.
  • Facilitate local agencies to form into a unified, cohesive and integrated Child and Family Support Network (CFSN).
  • In conjunction with Tusla Child and Family Agency, co-ordinate CFSN meetings and assist in developing referral systems and pathways for children and families between other relevant local services and TuslaChild and Family Agency social work service as part of the Meitheal service delivery framework.
  • As necessary, work collaboratively in the direct delivery of programme supports and services to targeted families as consistent with the Meitheal service delivery framework.
  • Collect and maintain data and prepare reports on activity, progress, outputs and outcomes achieved through the supported development work undertaken.
  • Work with relevant local interests to research and document the need and evidence base for the development of new family and child focused support services.
  • Perform such other duties or tasks as may be required from time to time as appropriate to the post.

Qualifications:

The Child and FamilySupport Network CommunityWorker will have operated within a relevant field or social inclusion context and have the necessary skills and experience to undertake the role and complete the key associated duties/tasks. Candidates will demonstrate their knowledge and understanding of adopting a local area development approach and progressing evidenced-based and informed work with families to improve outcomes for children/young people. A relevant qualification is desirable.
