JOB DESCRIPTION:

POST: Ageing Better in Camden Community Connectors - Project Manager

SALARY: Scale Point 37 NJC scale including ILW - (£35,219 pro-rata for 30 hours = £30,187)

HOURS OF WORK: 30 hours per week worked flexibly over a minimum of 4 days

RESPONSIBLE TO: C4 Community Connectors Working Group Chair, CCWG and ultimately C4 Board of Trustees

RESPONSIBLE FOR: Line management of 5 Area Coordinators and ultimately volunteers

WORK BASE: Camden wide with a base in Holborn

CONTRACT: 18 months initial contract, potential extension to 6 years.

Background: Ageing Better in Camden Project:

The project is one of the key strands of delivering the Ageing Better in Camden Project, being delivered by the Consortium of Camden Community Centres – C4. The project works to identify and support older Camden residents, who are affected by issues relating to social isolation and loneliness, and to connect them to activities and opportunities through which they can improve their social activity and wellbeing, building new friendships and community links and ultimately actively contribute themselves where possible. Key Purpose:

The overall purpose of the Project Manager (PM) role is to lead the development and successful delivery of the Ageing Better in Camden Community Connectors Project.

Roles & Responsibilities:

Main Responsibilities

1  Lead the implementation, management, development and administration of the Community Connectors Project across Camden

2  Lead on monitoring and evaluation and ensure agreed outcomes are met across all areas

3  Responsible for the recruitment, supervision, management and training of staff (Area Coordinators)

4  Responsible for the engagement of wider stakeholders, particularly on a Camden-wide level including leading participation in Ageing Better in Camden events

Job Activities

Project Development and Line Management

·  Implement and deliver the Community Connectors project establishing and operating effective systems, policies and procedures.

·  Line manage, train and support 5 Area Coordinators across Camden

·  Provide direct management and guidance/advice on the management of each area to the Area Coordinators and partners

·  Represent the project at area meetings, and assuring its needs are fed into and considered in strategic planning

·  Fundraising to expand the reach and sustainability of the project

Evaluation and Monitoring

·  Keep project objectives up to date, lead on monitoring and evaluation making sure that all the targets and aims of the project are met in a timely manner

·  Carrying out risk assessment for the project alongside the Area Coordinators

·  Making sure the quality of delivery meets the funder’s requirements, including exploring registering to the Mentoring and Befriending Foundation Quality Standard.

·  Developing and using IT systems (database and asset mapping) to keep track of people and progress in line with the evaluation needs of the project

·  Using Evaluation and Monitoring findings to help inform further funding raising and income generating opportunities for the project.

Administrative/Finance

·  Establishing and developing effective and efficient administrative systems

·  Overseeing the accounting, costing and billing done by Queen’s Crescent Community Association finance department, guiding the creation of reports and analysing these with finance and chair.

·  Reporting to the C4 Community Connectors working group on the project and assuring good communication.

General responsibilities

·  Take part in events and activities, including on rare occasions outside Camden as agreed with their line manager.

·  Design, review and apply policies and practices relating to the safeguarding of vulnerable adults.

·  The PM is expected to reprioritise work where necessary to accommodate urgent tasks whilst still achieving goals.
