Position Title: Personal Lines Account Manager

Reports To: Personal Lines Department Manager

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

1.  Identify and analyze client exposure and provide risk control and risk transfer mechanisms and solutions to meet the client’s needs.

2.  Provide prompt, accurate, courteous service to customers, producers, external company personnel and internal co workers.

3.  Provide, with a positive attitude, a high level of support in obtaining, maintaining, expanding and servicing accounts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

1.  Meet with clients to discuss and handle their insurance needs.

2.  Maintain a thorough understanding of the markets and their appetites, underwriting guidelines, submission guidelines and procedures.

3.  Maintain an excellent knowledge of all partner carrier and vendor websites and their functions

4.  Market new business, determine premiums, process applications, prepare and present proposals to clients.

5.  Check new, renewal, and endorsement policies for accuracy in rating, typing, coverages, signatures, and input these transactions to generate billing invoices. Ensure that these items are delivered and/or mailed to client.

6.  Receive phone calls from clients and companies regarding insurance, claims, or administrative problems and return call same day. Comply with the request and/or refer to PID supervisor when necessary. Keep producer, if any, up to date when necessary about changes/problems with the account.

7.  Prepare and process cancellations when required.

8.  Prepare and process all requests for ID Cards, Binders, Certificates of Insurance and Evidence of Property as required with 24 hours of request or sooner if needed.

9.  Grow and develop talents and insurance and risk management knowledge to highest level possible by participating in seminars and classes for skill and knowledge development.

10.  Maintain all client activity in the agency automation system.

11.  Prioritize workload and/or request for assistance as required. Provide assistance to co workers when requested.

12.  Provide training to co workers when required.

13.  Obtain expiration dates for policies not written by us to follow-up on and quote.

14.  Introduce our clients to all the products and services CLG Insurance offers.

15.  Recommend improved or additional coverages on behalf of the agency or individual producer.

16.  Assist other divisions in securing and/or providing information necessary to service our mutual client professionally.

17.  Understand the various products and services CLG Insurance offers.

18.  Immediately report all malfunctions of system software to the systems manager.

19.  Be familiar with and follow agency E&O guidelines.

20.  Assume other job responsibilities as assigned by department manager

QUALIFICATIONS:

1.  Minimum of two years of Personal Account Management or Personal Underwriting experience is necessary.

2.  Education requirement: College degree preferred. High school diploma or equivalent is required.

3.  Professional designation is a plus. Pursuit of CISR designation or equivalent is required.

4.  Knowledge of computer systems and operations is required including Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

5.  Good listening skills and attention to detail are important.

6.  Good oral and written communication is important.

7.  Property & Casualty License is required.

8.  A valid driver’s license, good driving record and insurance are required.

WORKING HOURS: 37.5 hours per week unless otherwise approved by management
