Position Title:Facilities Operations Specialist

Summary: Under the direction of the Training Program/FacilitiesManager, the Facilities Operations Specialistperforms duties to repair, maintain, or clean equipment, building, and facilities, requiring a broad knowledge of maintenance skills including, but not limited to, mechanical repair, plumbing, heating and cooling and electrical repair. There is no supervisory responsibility in this position.

Ensure that we meet/exceed customer expectations for timely delivery of quality product utilizing good general business practices that are in full compliance with any state or federal requirements.

Primary Duties:

  1. Install, repair, rebuild and maintain mechanical equipment to ensure the maximum up time of laboratory activities. This may also involve relocation of existing equipment to involve dismantling, assembly, leveling, fitting, and aligning operations.
  2. Troubleshoot malfunctioning systems, apparatus, components, and operating difficulties; make repairs or adjustments as needed.
  3. Perform business management duties such as maintaining records and files to ensure proper maintenance documentation is complete and readily available. Prepare reports and ordering supplies and equipment needed to service equipment.
  4. Use knowledge and qualification for electrical installation skills, maintenance and repair of electrical systems and equipment.
  5. Remain in compliance with current National Electric Codes.
  6. Maintenance on the building, facilities and the grounds.
  7. Use a variety of tools and equipment when needed.
  8. Performjanitorial duties for the site when needed.
  9. Preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment as scheduled.
  10. Ensure proper maintenance documentation is complete and readily available.
  11. Submit requests for additional parts, service and equipment.
  12. Support and actively participate in all safety initiatives related to site function.
  13. Effectively support and follow all aspects of the Quality Management System.
  14. Responsible for modeling and acting in accordance with Cherney values.
  15. Responsible for Continuous Improvement in all aspects of production.
  16. May be required to occasionally work evening and weekend hours as needed to ensure proper completion of duties.
  17. Backup for general housekeeper
  18. All other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Training Program/Facilities Manager

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  1. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 5 years in the electrical trades and one to three years of trade experience is preferred.
  2. Maintain current electrician’s license or identification card to meet government regulations.
  3. Deductive reasoning, logic, manual dexterity, math skills, and problem solving techniques.
  4. Be able to work well in a team environment.
  5. Be able to utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams and a manufacturer’s installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, attentive and timely in responses.
  7. Good follow up and ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously without getting flustered.
  8. Collaborative and cooperative work style internally and externally with a “can do” attitude.
  9. Excellent problem solver who sees solutions instead of obstacles.
  10. Familiarity with MS Office software and strong computer skills.
  11. Valid driver’s license (if needed for position).
  12. Excellent attendance record.

Physical Requirements:

1.Able to walk regularly around the production floor and office areas, including climbing steps and also occasionally climbing on a ladder.

2.Able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted.

3.Able to bend, squat, sit and stand.

4.Able to sit in office chair working on written assignments and operate a computer.

5.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

6.Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts, in high precarious places, near fumes or airborne particles, with caustic or toxic chemicals.
