POSITION: Student Information Data Manager

North Iredell High

SALARY: State Salary Schedule Salary Grade 62

QUALIFICATIONS: Graduation from high school with perference given to associates degree in business administration or office technology; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Notary certification would be required. The candidate must hold a North Carolina Driver’s License.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, performs a variety of task for the student information system in the district. Work involves utilizing specialized computer-driven file maintenance, word processing and spreadsheets programs which are part of the student information systems to develop and maintain records of student data (attendance, class schedules, grades, demographic statistics, immunizations, etc.). Work also involves enrolling new studetns to the district.

Duties are as described. Other duties may be assigned by supervisor:

  • Maintains and utilizes the computerized student information sytsem Powerschool
  • Selects data from varied sources, summarizes and analyzes information for standard reports to building and school system administrators and DPI
  • Prepares customized reports for local school needs
  • Prepares and/or maintains computer records of student attendance; enters data from submitted forms; reviews late-arrival forms, and reconciles with absences to create “tardy” list; reviews check-out forms and reconciles with absences to create “early leaves” list.
  • Sends correspondence to parents to advise them of excessive absences according to established policies and procedures
  • Maintains, generates, and distributes student demographic, scheduling, and grading information
  • Maintains records of student suspensions, student withdrawal from school, record of reasons for student withdrawal and students; plans and prepares periodic statistical reports.
  • Prepares and/or maintains various files, and reports exceptional children being served by school as it relates to the student information system
  • Facilitates transfer of student information between schools.
  • Performs advanced scheduling, which includes assisting administrators in determining needs and identifying solutions when less than 100% scheduled
  • Continuously maintains students schedules throughout the academic school year
  • Shares in office support duties as directed by principal.
