The Opportunity

Blue Vista’s Student Housing Platform is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Analyst with a minimum of two years of relevant experience with institutional real estate transactions or valuations to supplement its acquisitions team. By working directly with senior-level team members, the Senior Analyst will gain broad exposure to institutional real estate investment management through the underwriting, strategy planning, financing, and closing of student housing acquisition and development transactions and collaboration with student housing portfolio management and asset management functions. The position will have a heavy emphasis on analytics, financial modeling, and qualitative analysis which will be used in key investment-making decisions for the Student Housing Platform. Candidates should possess a strong academic track record and a desire to work as part of a team with the ability to interact independently with brokers, lenders, sponsors, and investors. The position includes a varying and challenging set of high level responsibilities and an opportunity for growth in an expanding, well-capitalized real estate private equity company.

Responsibilities/essential functions include, but are not limited to the preparation of research, financial analysis/modeling, valuations, cash flow projections, and review of appraisals, engineering reports, and environmental reports.

Qualifications Required

  • Minimum two years of real estate specific experience strongly preferred
  • Experience with financial modeling and understanding of key real estate investment concepts
  • Strong quantitative and technical/computer skills (proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is required)
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral)
  • Highly motivated self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Strong interest in the real estate private equity industry
  • Excellent academic record with an undergraduate degree
