Position Overview: Senior Systems Administrator

PEF is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Systems Administrator with 6+ years’ experience. This individual will play a key role in expanding PEF’s current infrastructure along with designing, organizing, modifying, and supporting a company's computer systems. Candidate should be proficient in designing and installing LANs, WANs, Internet and intranet systems, and network segments, VMWare, EMC SANs, Exchange 2010, MS GPM, Veeam and Dell AppAssure.

The candidate must take a balanced view on delivery of solutions between network architecture, time, cost and quality and be able to communicate effectively to non-technical audiences and stakeholders. This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Systems Administrator who has the desire to take on a strategic leadership role on a growing infrastructure team.

Responsibilities include:

·  Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems

·  Troubleshoot problems reported by users

·  Analyze and isolate issues

·  Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users

·  Evaluate and modify system's performance

·  Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security

·  Design and deploy networks

·  Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration

·  Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services

·  Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers

·  Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPN gateways, intrusion detection systems

·  Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches

·  Recommend changes to improve systems and network configurations, and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes

·  Monitor network performance in order to determine whether adjustments need to be made, and to determine where changes will need to be made in the future

·  Gather data pertaining to customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements

·  Maintain logs related to network functions, as well as maintenance and repair records

·  Research new technology, and implement it or recommend its implementation

·  Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases

·  Diagnose hardware and software problems, and replace defective components

·  Configure and manage backup solutions

·  Work with 3rd-party service providers to support systems and infrastructure

·  Manage Exchange 2010

·  Upgrade systems and business-related applications when necessary

·  Manage virtual machines using VMWare vCenter

·  Manage GPOs

Qualifications:

·  BS/MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject or equivalent certification and experience

·  Experience planning for installing and configuring VM hosts

·  Experience creation and cloning VMs and managing Virtual switches

·  Experience installing and managing EMC SANs

·  Experience with EMC UniSphere

·  Support business operations by ensuring all current technologies are properly installed and configured

·  Hands-on helpdesk support

·  Workstation imaging and maintenance

·  Experience managing Exchange 2010

·  Experience managing backup and restores of all data (VMs, files) using Veeam/AppAssure

·  Knowledge of backup/restore best practices

·  Experience creating and managing Group Policies using MS GPMC and AD accounts

·  Experience managing and supporting Lync Server 2013

·  Experience creating and modifying Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery plans with redundant data center and performing periodic tests

·  Experience performing Network Monitoring for VM hosts, VMs, processes and service alerts

·  Experience Managing and configuring DNS and /DHCP

·  Experience maintaining network and system security
