The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) South Sudan is seeking applications for the position ofComputer Management Assistant in the Executive Office.

Job Summary

The Information Systems Division (ISD) located within the USAID Executive Office, Juba,South Sudan is responsible for all services associated with the Local Area Network (LAN) consisting of 13 Servers and approximately 260 PC Nodes and over 300 phones with a user community expected to grow further. The LAN includes a dedicated telecommunications link and AID/W offices creating an Agency World-Wide Area Network (WAN). There is also a Broadband wireless connection in the USAID residential rompound. In support of this complex network there are three major systems running parallel and require continuous service to ensure no breaks in service.

The FSN Computer Management Assistant provides technical support in the maintenance of all computer equipment and office machines. Under the supervision of the Computer Management Specialist, the incumbent is responsible for maintenance and repair of the software, computers and all the electronic and telecommunication equipment. The Computer Management Assistant reports directly to the Computer Management Specialistin the Information System Division.

The incumbent is also responsible for the installation and programming of the Mission’s Voice Over Internet Phones (VOIP) consisting of over 260 extensions spread over four compounds. The incumbent will serve as the focal point (help desk) for all computer related problems both in the official and residential compounds.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

EDUCATION (10):Diploma or University Degree in Information Technology Management or Computer Science/Electronicsis required.

Prior Work Experience (15):A minimum of 3 years’ experience in computer, office equipment and general electronics, installation, maintenance and repair is required. Experience inproviding customer service in the area of computer management would be an added advantage.

Language (10): Must speak and write English fluently. Fluency in Juba Arabic is required.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (65):Must understand the principles of computer maintenance and programming techniques. Must have computer and telephone technical knowledge.
