Role Purpose
To lead on the development and innovationof the Settlement’s Mental Healthand Well Being Service, in liaison with members, individual project co-ordinators and senior staff, and taking account of the external environment.
To Manage the Art2Print social enterprise team including promotion of the service, volunteer development and management to ensure commitment to the social value of the enterprise with support from the Senior Services Manager
To manage and provide leadership to existing projects and develop new initiatives where appropriate by utilising the opportunities provided through local and national funding initiatives
To ensure that service systems, policies and procedures are in place to ensure a high quality service provision.
Overall responsibility for the delivery of a range of activities and opportunities to enable members to develop pathways to recovery and develop their work related skills
To provide effective leadership to the staff team.
To set and manage annual budgets.
Overall responsibility for providing accurate records, appropriate auditable documents and monitoring reports, internally and to funders of the Mental Health and Well Being service
To ensure the Settlement values and its commitment to equality, social inclusion and co-production are reflected in activities and work practice.
To develop positive relationships with communities, partners and all groups with
whom the Settlement works
To lead on health and well-being initiatives including physical health and well being projects.

2.1Service Management and Development
- To ensure representation of the service in fora concerned with mental health as appropriate according to the needs of the service and by agreement with the line manager.
- To keep abreast of all central and local government strategies relating to the delivery of mental health services.
- To work with the Mental Health and Well Being team to enable clients to develop independence and confidence to improve the quality of their lives and maximise their full potential.
- To lead on new developments around delivery of services in line with national, local and community requirements.
- To take responsibility for the management of staff and resources within the Mental Health and Well Being Service including Art2Print.
- To have overall responsibility for the delivery of activities, courses and workshops and the promotion of services, including the sale of products.
- To have overall responsibility for the recruitment of new service users which involves
- preparation and distribution of publicity
- liaison with referring agencies especially Primary Health Care Teams, Social Services and voluntary agencies.
- To liaise with HR Administrator to recruit volunteers for workshops, activity sessions and project delivery.
- To contribute to fundraising activity in order to continue to generate income for the service including identifying sources of funding and contributing to funding applications.
- To liaise with a range of organisations in the community to raise the profile of the Settlement, to develop good practice and establish the potential for joint or complementary provision.
- To lead on establishing feedback mechanisms from members and volunteers and co-production strategies for the development and delivery of the service

- To ensure equipment is maintained in accordance with Health and Safety regulations.
- To work within the relevant Health and Safety legislation and communicate this to the members.
2.2Staff Management
- To line manage the Mental Health Services team and carry out effective support and supervision and annual appraisal against agreed personal objectives and organisational targets
- To manage the Art2Print Production Organiser and carry out effective support and supervision and annual appraisal against agreed personal objectives and organisational target.
- To strengthen the Mental Health staff team through professional development, regular support and supervision and effective performance management procedures.
- To hold regular whole-service team meetings
- To take part in all aspects of staff and volunteer recruitment
- To be responsible for the induction, probation, appraisal, performance management and professional development of staff within the team.
2.3Admin & Finance
- To have overall responsibility for the maintenance of accurate records of personal details, contacts and activity in line with Settlement guidelines
- To have overall responsibility for ensuring that operational plans are followed and updated in line with agreed process
- To set and manage annual budgets, monitoring income & expenditure against the agreed annual budget on a quarterly basis to contribute to end quarter reports to the Settlement’s Finance Sub-Group
- To be responsible for maintaining documentation in line with funding body requirements and for providing monitoring information and written reports to the funding bodies for audit purposes and as required
- To have overall responsibility for ensuring that impact and evaluation processes are followed and produce the appropriate impact reports as required.

2.4Fundraising
- To fundraise for existing services and develop new initiatives in liaison with the Senior Services Manager, Director and external fundraiser.
To prepare tenders and other funding applications in collaboration with the Director and Senior Services Manager
2.5Marketing and Promotion of Service
- To have overall responsibility for the promotion of the Mental Health and Well Being Service within the Settlement and externally, including outreach, social media and publicity
- To promote fundraising initiatives led by service members and others
2.6Settlement Management
- To participate with management colleagues in the planning and management of the Settlement as appropriate.
- To attend Settlement Manager/coordinator Team meetings.
- To contribute towards strategic business planning, staff development, marketing, record keeping and accurate information returns
- To develop and maintain good management practices by taking up training opportunities and participating in management team reviews.
2.7Other Duties
- To attend and participate in all Settlement staff meetings and events.
- To attend and report annually the Settlement Council.
- To attend regular supervision with the Senior Services Manager and take part in the annual staff appraisal.
- To undertake training and staff development as required.
- To take part in Settlement events.
- To adhere to and implement all Settlement policies and procedures including Health & Safety, Safeguarding and Equality & Diversity.
- To work on any of the existing or future Settlement designated places of work at any time during the calendar year as required

Qualifications
Possession of a degree and/or a recognised Adult health and social carequalification or equivalent experience
Knowledge, experience and abilities(Essential)
- A minimum of three years’ experience of working with and supporting people with mental health problems.
- A minimum of3years’ experience of successful servicemanagement
- Experience of identifying, assessing and reviewing individuals’ needs.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of co-produced models of service development
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of peer support models of service delivery
- Proven fundraising and budgeting experience
- Extensive administrative, organisational and resource management skills to ensure the smooth running of the service and to meet the information requirements of the Settlement and its funding bodies
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop staff within a context of rapid change
- A track record of successful innovation and development.
- A high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to work within a team situation
- A sound knowledge of information and learning technologies
- Experience of liaising with a variety of statutory, voluntary and community organisations
- A commitment to the Settlement’s equal opportunities policies and the ability to translate this into practice, e.g. in relation to quality, equality and partnership
