Position: Distance Learning Adjunct – Computer Information Systems

Department: Distance Learning

Reports to: Dean of Distance Learning

FLSA Designation:Non-Exempt

Nature of Duties: Under limited supervision, conductsonline classroom instruction for credited Computer Information Systems courses via ANGEL Learning Management System.Implements program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; monitors and evaluates students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives. Maintains program certification/accreditation requirements as appropriate.Prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports. Facilitates classroom discussion and provides online faculty presence, to include online office hours. The instructor provides theory and practical applications of the academic discipline in certificate, diploma, and degree level classes.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology or Master’s degree in a related field witha minimum of 18 graduate semester hours/30 graduate quarter hours in the teaching discipline
  • Recent online teaching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with a diverse student population; and
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PhD in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, or Information Technology
  • Directly related field experience
  • Related professional certifications
  • Teaching experience at the post secondary level
  • Online learning experience
