Position: Development Manager

Reports To: Development Director

Position Summary

The Development Manager reports to the Development Director and assists with planning, organizing and directing efforts to increase funding levels in support of CASA of Travis County’s mission. The Development Manager may also work closely with the Executive Director, the Campaign Committee and/or CASA Board members or other fundraising volunteers. The Development Manager is primarily responsible for individual and corporate partnership opportunities including: identifying funding sources, stewarding major donors and corporate sponsorships, and managing the Powerful Voice Society. The Development Manager, along with the Executive Director and Development Director will share responsibility for achieving the annual development target by responding to donor requests, donor solicitation, stewardship of individual and corporate donors, and organization of PVS events.

Essential Responsibilities and Duties

Fundraising

·  Work with Director of Development to identify potential donors through research, contact with existing donors and other internal and external resources. Maintain and update ‘Moves Manager’ spreadsheet to track major donor activity.

·  Solicit new and steward existing donors and prospects through relationship building, meetings and presentations. This may be done in conjunction with staff and/or board members.

·  Implement fundraising efforts in collaboration with the Development Director by targeting individual donors and corporate partnerships.

·  Achieves budgeted revenue goals as part of the Development Team, set forth by the Executive Director and Board of Directors.

·  Expand and diversify CASA of Travis County’s donor base/pipeline, working collaboratively with internal and external team members to secure funding.

·  Maintain, manage and analyze data from donor database and other sources to determine donor retention, future donor prospects and other data analysis as needed.

·  Assist with recruitment, planning and implementation of PVS Parties with a focus on new individual donors.

·  Manage solicitation and stewardship of sponsorships for CASA Kids, Golf Classic and CASA Superhero Run as part of overall corporate partnership initiative.

Powerful Voice Society Management and Gift Administration

·  Manage Powerful Voice Society through the use of welcome letters, renewal letters, annual gifts and other appropriate follow-up.

·  Work with Director of Communications to develop messaging and write quarterly PVS emails for Executive Director.

·  Assist in reviewing and creating overall development strategies, procedures, programs and policies to help achieve financial goals.

·  Position CASA of Travis County in front of major funding changes and trends through ongoing research of funding sources and trends.

·  Track and manage all multi-year pledges and pledge payment reminders.

·  Maintain current prospect and partner records in donor management system and provide appropriate reporting as necessary.

Community Awareness & Partnerships

·  Be an ambassador for CASA at PVS events, specialized third party events and community tables.

·  Set and attend meetings with major donors and major donor prospects.

·  Consistent professional representation within our community to maintain CASA identity and mission.

·  Develop and maintain ongoing collaborative relationships with community partners.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Required:

·  Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, communications or other related field.

·  Demonstrated experience in fundraising or sales environment including proven experience soliciting and stewarding individuals and corporations.

·  Demonstrated ability to work under time constraints, be goal-oriented and maintain productive and effective relationships with staff, volunteers and community supporters.

·  Demonstrated excellence in communication, both written and oral.

·  Demonstrated integrity, honesty and ethical conduct.

·  Demonstrated passion for CASA's mission.

·  Proven ability to manage multiple projects while balancing competing priorities, ability to meet deadlines.

·  Ability to work independently as well as highly collaborative within a team environment.

·  Strong attention to detail/organizational skills.

Preferred:

·  5+ years experience working with prospecting, soliciting and stewarding major donors in human services organization.

·  Experience running queries and managing donors within the Raiser’s Edge database.

·  Experience forecasting fundraising goals and results through various reports and spread sheets.

·  Proficiency in Microsoft Office products with strength in Excel and Word.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The Development Manager will be expected to have daily transportation to attend speaking and fund raising events, offsite meetings, recruitment, retention events, court hearings etc. Occasional out-of-town and/or overnight travel. He/she will spend some time in the office that could involve intermittent physical activities including bending, reaching, sitting and walking during working hours. Additionally, it is anticipated that the person may spend several hours of each day seated at a PC.
