Suicide Prevention School/Community Liaison / Directly Responsible To:
Director of School and Community Programs
Salary: $4,000

The Suicide Prevention School/Community Liaison is responsible for acting as a liaison between the White Swan Arts & Recreation Community Coalition and Mt. Adams School District. The liaison will be coordinating the Suicide Prevention Project work for the White Swan Arts and Recreation Community Coalition.

Description of Responsibilities:

A.  Attend district, community, and partner meetings as a representative of the Mt. Adams School District and White Swan Art & Recreation Community Coalition.

B.  Attend the monthly White Swan Arts & Recreation Community Coalition and provide update on the progress of the Suicide Prevention Project.

C.  Records and collects project documentation, enter required data by the 15th of each month, and update project strategies.

D.  Works with Mt. Adams School District Director of School and Community Programs on project progress.

E.  Provide current information to stakeholders including media, district and community partners.

F.  Attend trainings required by the School District and the coalition.

G.  Participate in training and project implementation as required by the Suicide Prevention Project.

H.  Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

1.  Degree in social work, counseling, public administration education, education or other health related field. The above qualifications may be substituted by two years’ experience in community coalition or prevention related experience.

2.  Familiarity with various software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and internet skills).

3.  Ability to work with diverse populations and community entities.

4.  Ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 50 lbs.

5.  Must have a valid Washington State Driver’s License and be able to pass a FBI/Washington State Patrol background check.

Must Possess the following Work Skills: Organized, oral and written communication, public speaking, group and meeting facilitation, good sense of humor, ability to learn new concepts quickly, self-motivated with ability to work independently.
