2.Announcements

-College Faculty meeting today at 3:30pm

3.Reports/Updates/Announcements from departments and dean’s staff.

-Chairs- when you sign up on proposals, please go through entire proposal and give comments before it is sent to me.

-Project due date is no longer 5 weeks prior to commencement. Date will be changed.

-Still need graduate student handbook from all departments.

-Faculty should let undergraduate students in senior standing know to consider taking graduate courses if they qualify for credit by examination.

Brett

-Drawings for the etiquette dinner have been given out.

-Superior controls wants to set up a social gathering to meet upcoming graduating students for hire. Mainly EE and MECH.

-I am requesting performance reports on all students who fall below on their GPA criteria in order to help them with tutoring, etc. An email notification will be sent to those students.

Eric

-Will have building open 9:00am- 1:00pm for the upcoming open house.

Martie

-Reminders: March 1st from 9:00am- 2:00pm Ben Bolt junior high school students will be coming to tour the college. An estimated 100 students are to attend.DEEA students will be touring college on March 3rd. Community College Engineering Day will be held on Feb. 25th. The middle school engineering brawl will be on March 9th and the high school engineering brawl will be held on March 11th. All lab demonstrations have already been set up for these days.

4. Items for discussion/Action

  • Still working on BS for Natural Gas program
  • PhD in energy systems- Sent revised copy of proposal. Need independent consultant to review proposals.
  • TALISMA- Still updating information for prospective students. Need department letters to submit.
  • Senior Design conference- Let faculty know that all students in senior design classes need to present at the conference.
  • FE- As of now, we have 48 students who have signed up.
  • Certification program- Physics/Geosciences has a certificate program that we can use as a template for our engineering certificate program.
  • E-newsletter- We need to get with Adrianna on the progress of our electronic newsletter. Our target date is coming up.
  • Resource Committee- For the report, the only response back was from CEAE. Please send in comments as soon as possible.
  • Strategic Plan- Several corrections/updates have been added. Still need more information for some line items.
  • College Bylaws- We will be discussed in today’s faculty meeting.
  • Chair Reviews- Some departments are up for review for reappointment.
