International Fraternity Officer Job Description

Position: COLLEGIATE REGIONAL MEMBERSHIP SPECIALIST

Position Overview / The collegiate regional membership specialist serves as a key member of the collegiate regional team by facilitating member satisfaction from the new member experience to the threshold of the alumnae experience in chapters within her defined region. In this capacity, she assists her team in assessing recruitment and member retention needs that will ensure involved and committed members and strong chapters. Her primary areas of focus include recruitment oversight, new member education, member satisfaction, transition program, and Panhellenic and campus relations.
Key
Responsibilities / Works with other members of regional team to assess chapter needs with the region and to help chapters meet the Standards of Excellence as established for chapter performance
Directs, monitors and educates chapters on member issues both internally and externally and provides leadership in setting goals for success
Acts as a resource officer in region for chapter vice president of membership and chapter vice president of communication in matters pertaining to specific officer areas
Acts as a regional trainer in recruitment and membership areas
Oversees transition programs in chapters
Monitors Panhellenic and campus activities and relations
Oversees publications and technology matters in chapters
Routinely and carefully reviews chapter reports to identify areas of concern that involve issues within her responsibilities; acts proactively to resolve concerns identified
Maintains frequent contact with regional chapters and team members, grand vice president collegians and Headquarters
Completes routine reporting requirements, including:
·  Chapter visit reports and follow-up letters
·  Annual state-of-the-chapter reports (for region)
Completes other communications (e-mail, letters) as needed/directed
Assists with manual rewrites and publications as needed
May serve on committee(s) to judge selected awards
Develops and delivers presentations at regional workshops, Leadership Academies and convention as requested
Makes chapter visits and attends Panhellenic/campus meetings, as requested, supporting regional team interests
Represents the Fraternity to Panhellenic advisers and campus administrators
Reporting Relationships / Reports to collegiate regional director
Liaisons with:
·  Grand vice president membership
·  Grand vice president collegians
·  Grand vice president communications
·  Director membership
·  National Panhellenic Conference delegate
·  Other regional collegiate membership specialists
Maintains regular contact via email, phone calls and written correspondence with:
·  Chapter vice president of membership
·  Chapter vice president of administration
·  Chapter vice president of communications
·  Alumnae Advisory Committee counterparts
Travel / Biennial Convention: 5 days
Biennial Officers Workshop: 4 days, non-convention year
College Weekend: attendance at the invitation of the NRD and as needed to facilitate programming. Each region will be represented by two officers (ideally the CRD and one specialist). Each specialist group will be represented.
FDS Signature Events within the region: hotel and meals will be covered by the Fraternity, travel will be paid by the individual or regional team pending ARD/CRD approval
Other events: meetings, workshops and leadership opportunities, as requested
Time Commitment / Approximately 10 to 15 hours per week.Many weeks will call for less time, some may call for additional time.This will be determined by time of year and associated activities.

Qualifications
Knowledge / Experience / Experience as a chapter adviser or other experience as either collegiate or alumnae officer above the local level (required)
Broad Fraternity knowledge and perspective, with particular understanding of the collegiate segment, collegiate recruitment processes and the Pi Beta Phi Leadership Model
