Actors Theatre presents almost 500 performances annually and delivers a broad range of programming including classical repertory and contemporary work through the Brown-Forman Series, holiday favorites, a series of free theatre by its Acting Apprentice Company and the Humana Festival of New American Plays.
Summary of Position:
Assisting the Props Director and Props Master on assigned projects and serving as Assistant Props Master for Dracula and Props Master for a Humana Festival production. In addition, the Assistant will complete weekly tool checks for the department, oversee daily clean up and maintenance of the studio work spaces/stock, maintain MSDS/SDS organization, and complete Artisan projects as assigned. Other responsibilities that are outlined below:
Principal Responsibilities:
- Assist Props Director and Props Master on specific projects as assigned
- Serve as Assistant Props Master on Dracula and Props Master for a Humana Festival production
- As Props Master for designated productions, assign & monitor progress of tasks given to props artisans
- Supervise set dressing calls on designated productions and assist with all strikes
- Attend production meetings, technical rehearsals, and other meetings as required
- Complete weekly tool and ladder checks of department tools.
- Supervise daily cleanup of studio work spaces
- Opening and closing of the department facilities
- Supervise maintenance of Furniture and hand prop storage
- Organize and maintain MSDS/SDS documents for the department
- Planning/Design, supervision, and execution of Special Effects Props
- Work on Artisan projects as assigned
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 3 years regional theatre experience.
- Passion for theatre and advanced knowledge of theatrical process
- Willingness to work extra hours as required

Compensation
Compensation will be competitive with similar positions throughout the country. The range of benefits includes medical and dental insurance, long-term and short-term disability insurance, paid time off, a 403(b) retirement plan.
