PortRiver Dolphin Poem
These creatures are forced to live in filth for years
The water conditions could bring you to tears
Even though the river cleanup has begun
The situation is far from second to none
At least someone is making an attempt
As some are just showing contempt
Boat strikes are still a vital issue
As they can cut skin and muscle tissue
Donations are imperative to the dolphin’s survival
It is crucial to speed up their time of arrival
One of the most unique animals on this earth
A brilliant mammal that gives live birth
Some idiots however
Make every endeavour
To hurt these majestic creatures
Who amaze with their striking features
Their elegant noses
Their prominent poses
Their brilliant dorsal fin
Their tail fluke brings a grin
To the thousands that flock
To watch them rock
To those who want to hurt them
Remember they’re a gem
If you are hurting
There will be no skirting
The punishments enforced
And highly endorsed
By people all over the nation
Who will have a celebration
That you are in the slammer
Receiving punishment with a hammer

Port River Dolphin Poem
I’m going to tell you a small tale
About a bit of the Adelaide environment that could fail
Down near the port there is a river
And if you know what is happening there it could make you quiver
There is a dolphin that is at major risk
Because people just do not give a tisk
The river is becoming extremely polluted
And the problem isn’t getting fixed. Only muted
The industries in the area are pumping out waste
And it really does need to be stopped, post haste
And the water really isn’t in good taste
But this isn’t all harming these amazing mammals
There is also a lot of noise traveling through theses channels
Not only does this disturb the dolphins from afar
It can also have an effect on their forms of sonar
If we do not act quick these creatures may vacate
And will no longer be a feature of this beautiful state

Dolphins
Dolphins have round eyes
Their skin is smooth and nice
They have a muscular body
And that makes the dolphins solid and hardy
When you give them a hand
They make you feel proud to stand
Their habitat is in water
To be friendly with them is the matter
Playing with them is so wonderful
In water they look so beautiful
A calf has a helpful shy mother
And fun-loving warm-blooded father
They communicate with echolocation
But they never like to do it in water with eutrophication
Where the water is polluted
And effects the prey where it’s located
Their head is what they use to vocalize
Their tongue is used to socialize
Humans recognize each other by names
But dolphins use whistles, and love to play games
For everything they use their knowledge and tactics
They’re so smart even without mathematics
People hunt and kill dolphins in almost everywhere
This killing and hunting leads us to where?
When we can observe their behaviour, and study them
Why should we try to kill them?
Ask this question of ourselves
And let’s all act by ourselves
And never think about hunting dolphins
Because they are a nice friend of humans
