Introduction

This document will walk you through using the Mobility Sound / Pryme GPS mike (for Handheld Radios and GPS GPSbox (for Vehicles) with MRMAP. These devices work with a wide range of radios but have some limitations.

Know issues: -

·  Polling does not Work

·  Data muting is intermittent

·  The handheld units must be charged all the time when not in use as the never quote turn off resulting in flat batters if left)

Configuring the Mike or GPS Black Box

Both the GPS Mike and Black box have the same programming tool in the form of a windows program.

The important part from an MRMAP view point is the Unit ID. This is the piece of information that MRMAP uses to integrate the device in to the map.

Once you have configured the Unit ID your ready to move on to the ini file.

What do we do with the Radio Mike Name & MRMap.ini file?

So, you’ve now named the raidos, now we’re going to marry the radio name with the Radio ID.

In the new ini file there is a section at the bottom all about generic radio mikes, there’s a brief description of what to do & here you have to put the information to marry up with the Radio ID.

We’re going to use the following form example –

Team1 = Radio ID

So using the first Radio Name I have ‐ Team 1=25650

No gaps between the = signs

Under the Team’s ini file entry there is an entry that says – 25650=Team 1

Under your teams entry, you keep the same format of Radio ID = Name –

25650=Team 1

25651=Dog Team

25652=Team 2

25653=Mobile 1

Under the new Generic mike bit at the bottom of the page, it’ll look like this where “Team 1” is the name you programmed the mike with under the Unit ID –

Team 1=25650

Dog Team=25651

Team 2=25652

Mobile 1=25653

etc

etc

Please note we I have in the example used the same name for the Unit ID and the Name that appears in MRMAP but you do not need to do this.

Connecting a Mike or GPSbox to the MRMAP computer

Either a Mike or GPSbox can be connected to the MRMAP computer by means of a USB Cable. These connect to MRMAP in the same way as a Simoco radio dose and Radio connected will be displayed when it has connected.

When the 1st unit beacons it position it will be displayed on the map, but remember at the time of writing these devices do not support polling.

When The Computer running MRMAP is connected to the Internet other users will be able to see these Generic mikes enabled positions on their MRMap programme, but they won’t have these ini file entries on their local ini file in the Generic mike section.
