POLICY STATEMENT
  1. A Faculty Service Awards ceremony will be held annually to express appreciation to all academic personnel holding a faculty rank who have served the University in full-time, cumulative employment for a minimum of ten (10) years.

DESCRIPTION OF YEARS OF SERVICE AWARDS
  1. The awards will be given in five-year increments beginning with ten (10) years. The recognition will be in the following manner:

  1. All 10-year and 15-year honorees will receive a pin and a signed certificate.
  2. All 20-year honorees will receive a pin with a topaz stone and a signed certificate.
  3. All 25-year honorees will receive a pin with a ruby stone and a signed certificate.
  4. All 30-year honorees will receive a pin with a sapphire stone and a signed certificate.
  5. All 35-year honorees will receive a pin with an emerald stone and a signed certificate.
  6. All 40-year-plus honorees will receive a pin with a diamond stone and a signed certificate.
  7. All 30-year, 35-year, and 40-year honorees who are also retiring will receive a plaque of recognition for service.
  8. All 45 or more year honorees will receive a commemorative gift.
  1. The Director of Special Projects will order and purchase all pins and certificates for honorees as part of the University employee recognition process.

AWARDS CEREMONY PROCEDURES

  1. Ten, Fifteen, Twenty, and Twenty-five Year Pin Recipients
  2. The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with annual fall college meetings.
  3. Each college will be responsible for coordinating plans for the pictures to be taken at the awards ceremony, as well as sending information to Media and Public Relations for dissemination.
  1. Thirty, Thirty-Five, Forty Year Pin Recipients
  2. The awards ceremony will be held in conjunction with the President's fall convocation.
  3. The Director of Special Projects will be responsible for coordinating plans for the pictures to be taken at the awards ceremony as part of his/her responsibilities for the fall convocation.

PROCEDURES FOR IDENTIFYING ELIGIBLE HONOREES

  1. Procedures for identifying eligible honorees will follow those contained in UPPS 04.04.54 Years of Service Awards, paragraph 04.

CERTIFICATION STATEMENT

  1. This PPS has been approved by the reviewer listed below and represents Texas State's Division of Academic Affairs policy and procedure from the date of this document until superseded.
