English I 2016-2017
Welcome to Mustang High! I am excited to have you in English I this year. The following information will help you succeed in class.
Policies and Procedures:Grades are calculated as follows:
Daily Assignments, Quizzes, Homework40%
Essays, Exams, Book Reports, Projects60%
Students will be expected to complete each assignment as instructed and turn the assignment in on the designated due date. LATE WORK: Daily work will be accepted for 50%.
Students should complete all daily assignments and homework to help them prepare for their exams. Students will need to spend additional time outside of class to prepare for exams and to allow them every chance for success.
●I will update my grades weekly. I encourage all parents to take advantage of Parent Portal.
●A zero entered in the grade book indicates the student did not turn in the assignment. Students missing class are responsible for getting their missing assignments/notes. Missed exams must be taken before or after school by arrangement. Cheating/Plagiarism will result in a zero.
●There are two rules in my classroom: Be Respectful and Be Responsible. Every situation falls into one of these two categories.
●Profanity is NOT permitted at any time. Students will respect other class members, guest speakers, and me by showing self control on a daily basis. Student participation in class discussions and respect for varied opinions is expected.
