Terminal de Contenidors de Barcelona, S.L., is aware of the current aspirations of our society upon an improvement of the activities’ behaviour related to take care of the environment. TCB is aware of the environmental implications of its activity of container loading and unloading, so establishes its ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY with the following commitments acquired by its General Management:

1-ACCEPTSall itsresponsibility about the protection of the environment; is committed in preventing and reducing pollution, as well as implementingcontinuous actions to improve its environmental behaviour in its scope of influence and within its real possibilities.

2-IT IS COMMITTED:

-To comply with the law about the activities of the company as well as other requirements whichare not directly reflected to the company through a transparency policy and continuous audit.

-Establish a process of continuous improvement through a definition of objectives related to their significant environmental aspects. Provide an appropriate frame to execute and revise these objectives.

And specially commits:

-To develop Technologies whichreduce the impact of emissions from combustion gases to the atmosphere.

-Optimize the water use and reduce its pollutant load

-Energy efficiency improvement of their equipment, machinery and plants.

3-It INTEGRATES environmental considerations in the corporate strategy, using environmental criteria in planning procedures and decision making. They are appropriated to the nature and environmental impact magnitudes derived from its activities.

4-TRAINS and adopt the necessary measures to encourage the sensitization and the commitment to the protection of the environment of company staff and its main business partners.

5-MANTAIN effective channels of communication with the community inside and outside of the port area.

6-IT ENSURES that this Environmental Policy is accessible to everybody.

All employees must know this policy and carry it out in their jobs.
