  1. Welcome and Introductions

The meeting was called to order at 1:05 pm. Mrs. Talbert welcomed the committee; individuals introduced themselves.

  1. Subcommittee Updates
  2. Encampments
  3. Jimmy Willingham, SAPD began distributing emails to police stations in preparation for PIT. Jimmy Willingham will team up with Lamar Elliott to locate encampments on 2014 PIT maps. Lamar Elliott is attempting to utilize VA funds for map productions, lamination, and software programs for PIT resources. SAPD and VA established November 16, 2015 as the cutoff date for encampment break-ups.
  1. Volunteer Management
  2. The Salvation Army was not present to discuss volunteer management. Mrs. Talbert reminded the committee that we will be using andorganizational volunteer roster for each SARAH agency.
  3. Surveys
  4. Mrs. Talbert suggested that the Committee review the county survey requirement questions and see to if our current survey questions fulfill the county’s requirements. On November 17, 2015 at the Church Under the Bridge @ 1230pm, a Youth and Adult survey group will meet to review previous year surveys and make adjustments and improvements as needed.
  5. Donations
  6. Volunteers will be needed to assemble bags for distribution during PIT, more information TBADTBD. Mrs. Talbert reported all supplies were accounted for in SARAH storage such as flashlights, headlamps, clipboards, vests and etc. As of now funding will be needed to purchase batteries- all other purchasing of supplies will wait for another year. SAMMinistriesSAM Ministries will continue to take the lead on donations this year. They will be attempting to get 300+ giftcardsgift cards from McDonalds, Target, SAMMs and other businesses. Other donations such as socks, candy, granola bars, and PIT bags will be assembled for donations.

  2. A suggestion in reference to the courtyard surveying is to change the tactic from last year. Last year surveyors filed all the homeless in side for surveying, the expectation this coming PIT will be to go outside to the homeless and survey on the courtyard.
