The Governor in Council makes the following Regulations:

1Objective
The objective of these Regulations is to amend the Plumbing Regulations 2008—
(a)toupdate references to various standards incorporated by those Regulations to reflect revised titles of those standards; and
(b)to make other miscellaneous amendments.
2Authorising provisions
These Regulations are made under sections221ZZZV, 221ZZZW and 262 of theBuilding Act 1993.
3Commencement
(1)These Regulations (except regulation 9) come into operation on the day on which they are made.
(2)Regulation 9 comes into operation on 1 May 2016.
4Principal Regulations
In these Regulations, the Plumbing Regulations 2008[1] are called the Principal Regulations.
5Definitions
(1)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations insert the following definition—
"AS/NZS 3500.1 means AS/NZS 3500.1 Plumbing and drainage Part 1: Water services, as issued, published or remade fromtime to time;".
(2)In regulation 5 of the Principal Regulations, in thedefinition of PCA, after "Australia"insert"withinthe meaning of Part 12A of the Building Act1993".
6Backflow prevention work defined
In regulation 36 of the Principal Regulations omit"Plumbing and drainage Part 1—Water services, as issued, published or remade from time to time".
7Schedule 2 amended
After the heading to Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "Regulations 16, 18, 27, 29, 31, 33, 35 and 37"substitute"Regulations 18, 27, 29, 31, 35 and 37".
8Requirements for fire protection work
(1)In clause 3(k) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "Wall wetting sprinklers (Drenchers)"substitute"Drencher systems".
(2)In clause 3(l) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, after "Deluge"insert"systems".
(3)In clause 3(o) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "Maintenance"substitute"Routine service".
9Revocation of clause 3A in Schedule 2—Sprinkler protection for covered balconies
Clause 3A in Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations is revoked.
10Requirements for mechanical services work
In clause 4(f) of Schedule 2 to the Principal Regulations, for "installation"substitute"insulation".
