LABOR DAY WEEK-END ALREADY?

Hope all you LA FPI Instigators had a wonderful summer and are ready to get back in to the LA theatre scene! Keep reading to see what’s coming up – and see you at the theatre!

PLEASE WELCOME OUR NEW EVENTS EDITOR - NINA WOMACK!

Nina is both a new LA FPI Instigator and a wonderful part of the ensemble cast of “Sister Cities,” by Colette Freedman recently staged by the Towne Street Theatre Company. Nina responded to our call for volunteers in the first EBlast she received! Yeah Nina!!!

Greetings, fellow LA FPI Members! My name is Nina Womack and I'm thrilled to come aboard this organization as the new Events Editor! I am an actress-producer-writer-director-event planner with a degree in Theater. I began acting and print modeling when I was a child so technically I have over 35 years of experience! (smile) Since I have a strong theatrical background, it's natural and a passion of mine to entertain the audience through various forms of media including events.

I plan to bring my event planning expertise to this organization so we can continue to bond and strengthen as a women's group. I also look forward to informing everyone of the latest happenings within the organization so we are all on the same page and can support these events together.

Peace and blessings,

Nina Womack

RECENT LA FPI EVENT:

On August 25th, brand new LA FPI Instigator Debra Ehrhard’s one-woman play, “Jamaica Farewell” was an LA FPI Meet. For those of us lucky enough to attend, Debra made us feel like first-hand observers of her relentless pursuit of passage to America and the harrowing journey she finally made. That night’s audience gave the show a well-deserved standing ovation. And whole back of the program was dedicated to the LA FPI badge! Thanks Debra! All you who missed the show – you get another chance on October 6th!

As Always, Support Fellow LA FPI Productions!

The Los Angeles Female Playwrights Initiative is an LA-based movement working toward fair representation of women playwrights on stage. We encourage the involvement of theatermakers and theatergoers who support our goals. We also aim to connect female playwrights living in Los Angeles to other women theater artists, organizations, and the theater community in LA and beyond.

The best way to accomplish our goal of seeing more plays by women staged in LA is to have the ones that are do really well! Therefore, the most important thing we can do is attend plays written by women and help get others to do the same!
