Principal’s Development Fund International Visitors Program 2017/18
Category 1: International Visiting Scholars (Open Competition)
The International Visitors Program, Category 1 aims to enrich the international dimensions of the University, both within our classrooms and within our research environment. Funds are intended to assist Departments, Faculties and Schools in bringing to Queen’s outstanding scholars from outside of Canada. Visits supported by the Fund must involve significant interaction with both students and faculty. Visits must extend over no fewer than three working days on campus. While the Fund is designed to support international travel, accommodation and meals (according to Queen’s travel policy) for visits of up to two weeks’ duration, longer visits are encouraged, where funds are available from other sources. Preference will be given to joint applications from more than one academic unit.
Applications for subsidies of up to $3,000 are due in the Dean’s Office of the relevant Faculty or School by April 21, 2017. Applications will be reviewed by the Dean and then forwarded, acknowledging approval, to the Office of the Associate Vice-Principal (International) for final review. Funding decisions will be announced at the end of June 2017.
