041-0031 Conversion

Please note that this kit fits many different models. Some minor alterations may be required.

  1. Disconnect power from air compressor.
  2. Drain all air from tank.
  3. Refer to image below.

  1. Remove tube from top of item 8 from your compressor.
  2. Apply Teflon or sealant tape to all male pipe threads of the enclosed parts.(wrap clockwise 2 turns)
  3. Remove item 8 from out of air compressor tank.
  4. Install ½” bushing adaptor where item 8 was.
  5. Install ¼” x 3” pipe nipple into bushing adaptor.
  6. Install pressure switch onto pipe nipple as per picture above.
  7. Install ¼” x 2” nipple to bottom of pressure switch.
  8. Screw on regulator onto pipe nipple. (make sure to keep the arrow on the regulator pointing towards your hose fitting NOT the pressure switch)
  9. Install 1/8” pressure gauge to front of regulator.
  10. Install 1/8” plug in optional port on back of regulator.
  11. Install quick coupler into the other end of the regulator.
  12. Install ¼” bottom mount pressure gauge into top position of pressure switch.
  13. Install safety valve in the last remaining hole on the pressure switch.
  14. Slide compression nuts onto each end of new ¼”nylon tube first , then slide compression sleeves onto new nylon tube with small end facing the end of each tube. Finally, slide tubing insert into each end of tube.
  15. Install new ¼” nylon tube to side of pressure switch unloader valve.
  16. Remove old nylon tube from item 16 in picture above and install other end of new nylon tube into elbow (16) where old tube was located.
  17. Tighten both nuts on pressure switch and elbow to prevent leaks.
  18. Remove pressure switch cover.
  19. Remove the power cord from the old pressure switch.
  20. The next steps may require lengthening your power cords depending on your model.
  21. Strip insulation from the 2 wires and install thru side rubber grommet and attach each wire to each screw marked “Line”.
  22. Remove the wires coming from the motor and strip insulation from the 2 wires and install thru other side rubber grommet and attach each wire to each screw marked “Motor”.
  23. Reinstall pressure switch cover.
  24. Close drain valve in bottom of tank prior to turning unit on.
  25. This should complete your repair. After plugging in your unit, turn new pressure switch handle to the “Auto” position and let unit pump up and shut off. To control hose pressure, lift the new regulator control knob and turn clockwise to desired pressure setting.
