Session I (Circle One) Junior Division Senior Division

(8:30 – 10:00 AM) Students going into: grades 5, 6, 7 grades 8 – 10

Name of Course: Blogging with Wordpress – Grade 5-7 (Junior Division)
Educational Goals or Objectives: The students will learn how to blog with Wordpress

Description for Program Booklet The blogging revolution has led to new levels of communication on the Web. The WordPress is an online software that allowed an quickly and easily set up a blog. The students will learn how to setup their Wordpress Software, create posts, add videos, and maintain a blog. The students will explore the all possibilities the Wordpress plate form has to offers for creating blogs that are unique in style and voice.

*Please note that a completed two week syllabus will be required at the time of the faculty orientation meeting.

Name of Course: Web Site Design with Wordpress – Grade 8-10 (Senior Division)

Educational Goals or Objectives: The students will learn how to design a web site by using Wordpress as a Content Management Software (CMS)

Description for Program Booklet:

WordPress has clearly grown beyond it’s humble blog roots and developers around the world use it to create amazing websites that look fantastic and are very easy for their clients (and themselves!) to update.

We will explore different ways to modify WordPress so that you can generate almost any kind of website you want by learning different ways to control the content and how it is displayed.

(12:25 – 1:55 PM) Students going into: grades 5, 6, 7 grades 8 – 10

Name of Course: Martial Arts Skill Development, Functional Training and Games for Students – Grade 5, 6, 7 - (Junior Division)

Educational Goals or Objectives: The students will learn self defense, martial arts, and basic functional sports movement.

Description for Program Booklet:

This class combines martial arts skills and functional training,

We will use martial arts to cultivated mental and spiritual discipline while building physical strength and agility.

Functional training and games are another way to enhance coordination, muscular strength and endurance - and ultimately to build a body better able to meet the challenges of sports performance.

Session IV (Circle One) Junior Division Senior Division

(2:10 – 3:40 PM) Students going into: grades 5 ,6, 7 grades 8 – 10

Name of Course: Holistic Martial Arts Skills Development and Functional Training for Athletic Students – grades 8-10 (Senior Division)

Educational Goals or Objectives: The students will have a better understanding of functional training to help them with their sports, and holistic martial arts skills to help them manage their stress during competition

Description for Program Booklet:

With the youth obesity crisis being what it is and the world of youth sports becoming increasingly competitive, young people needed to be exposure and instructed on how to balance being healthy spiritual, physically and emotional.

We will provide a workout that integrates martial arts, meditation and functional training into one holistic mind-body-spirit system. This class will allow the students at all fitness levels to explore martial arts fitness in a safe, non-competitive environment.
