1. / 12:00 / Verona CHPI: 2020 Fitness and Lifestyle Challenge
·  Review website
·  Use of technology
·  GHC Coach / B. Arndt / http://www.fammed.wisc.edu/2020challenge
·  Last year the group started with 20 participants with a BMI over 30.
·  The healthcare partners are GHC, PPlus and Unity. Brian is waiting to hear back from Dean on partnering.
·  The group reviewed the website to make sure that it would make sense to potentials patients interested in the program. There was discussion about how to enhance the website.
·  Participants will be given a standard pre/post assessment as part of the program. Brian said they were thinking of using SF36, John Frey said he had some assessment tools that would be helpful. Brian and John agreed to talk off-line.
·  Each patient is assessed at the start of the program, the end of the 6 month program and then at one year (6 months off program) to see how they are doing. They are only measured against themselves.
·  There is strong community support from grocery stores and fitness centers and restaurants who offer discounts and gift cards for participants
·  There was a discussion of the use of technology in the program.
·  GHC has health coaches for the members who are part of the program and will offer an incentive to purchase a fitbit and download the information onto their website for feedback. They have offered to do health coaching for all participants (not just GHC) in 2015. People who track food and activity do better but tracking is not easy so the fitbit is a good way to get them to do it.
·  Everyone will get a pedometer if they want one.
·  A review of the nutrition information on the site was the topic of a lot of discussion. Questions about how to sort the recipes, how to link shopping lists, other options for recipes and substitutions were also discussed.
·  Because the participants all have different needs it can be very complicated to sort them while keeping it all on the website.
·  Currently participants get a weekly email with recipes and a corresponding shopping list. There was a lot of discussion about how to move forward.
·  Kara from Hy-Vee was going to look at the website and recipes and offer suggestions.
·  Tom Hahn was going to look at the design of a discount card to use at Hy-Vee (10% off), local restaurants, etc
