Dear Parents,

This month we will resume with Show and Tell. We also will be exploring our environment looking for shapes, patterns and numbers. We may be surprised to find out more of these things everywhere around us once we start looking. For the month of December Show and Tell will be to a photo from home of something that has a shape in it. Send the picture or print off on a paper and we will make a class book of “Shapes from Home”. Talk to your child about shapes and patterns they see every day.

Past month we were practising initial letters in our names and sounds they make. We will continue working on Alphabet in our Class. Please continue practising ABC with your child and ask them what sounds they make.

In November we really enjoyed the outdoors and have been noticing all the changes in the fall. We had fun planting the bulbs in our own “Kinder Garden” and excited about what kind of flowers we will see in the spring. We will continue looking for changes in the nature as winter arrives.

In December we will be getting ready for our Winter Concert on December 18th. Everyone is welcome to attend. Details will follow.

Please help us Practice “Winter “song with actions (from our Poetry Journal).

We also excited about writing our Holiday Cards. We have been talking in a class why and when we might write cards. Perhaps you would like to help your child to write his/her own card to Santa or relatives and friends. Did you know that Santa will write back if you send it before December 17th?

We will continue to go outside and play in December, please make sure your child properly dressed with hats, mittens and snow pants. Also make sure if possible that all pieces of closing are labeled (including boots and mittens). Occasionally they do end up in someone else bin and it is much easier to find a missing object.

Please keep practicing putting on snow pants and doing up zippers. It really helps!

As always please do not hesitate to talk to me or contact by email if you have any questions.

If you are available to help on the 17th or if you are able to prepare some royal icing, please send me an email and I will send you the recipe instructions. We will need lots of green and white icing! ()

On the 19 th, we will have a school-wide Pyjama Day! Please encourage your child to dress in P.J.’s that day and bring their favourite toy or stuffy.
