1) Research the history of the game of baseball? Write a brief summary of when it was invented, where, the first professional leagues and it’s importance / Prominence during world War 1, World 2, Vietnam and Korean Conflicts as well as the Civil Rights movement. After your summary of the history, try to explain why it was so important

2) Compare the popularity of Baseball in 2014 with the popularity of Baseball in 1964. What has changed? Is it more popular or less popular? It’s obvious more people watch it and go to games but is it more popular? Try to do some research and if possible, ask your grandparents, great grandparents and elderly family friends/neighbors!

3) Data research: Look for statistics common with Baseball such as but not limited to batting average, home runs, etc.

Compare the current league leaders with the active all time leaders and the all-time leaders regardless of when they played. Line graph the data and write 2-5 sentences about what you thought was interesting, cool, fun, or stood out about the data.
