As the PRINCIPAL, I will:

  • Demonstrate professional behavior and a positive attitude
  • Listen to your concerns
  • Maintain only the highest of expectations for students and staff
  • Be fair to all children
  • Keep students first in all my decisions
  • Provide an environment that is safe, civil and conducive to learning
  • Provide high quality curriculum and instruction to meet North Carolina’s academic standards
  • Meet with other schools and administrators in order to provide our students with the best educational opportunities
  • Hold parent conferences where staff will be available to consult with parents about their child’s progress. Conferences will be held by the end of October.

As the TEACHER, I will:

  • Believe that each child can learn and grow to his/her full potential
  • Show respect for each student and his/her family
  • Fairly enforce school and classroom rules
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and a positive attitude
  • Come to class prepared to teach
  • Seek ways to involve parents and maintain an open line of communication with students and parents
  • Meet with parents at conferences to discuss your child’s progress. Report cards and progress reports will be sent home every 9 weeks grading period.
  • Be available to consult with parents at a pre-scheduled time in order to avoid interrupting classroom instruction.
  • Invite parents to volunteer for field trips and classroom activities to the extent possible.

As the STUDENT, I will:

  • Come to school and be on time everyday
  • Show respect for myself, my school and other people
  • Believe that I can and will learn
  • Obey the school and bus rules
  • Always try to do my best in my work and in my behavior
  • Work cooperatively with my classmates, teachers and other school staff
  • Ask my teacher questions when I do not understand
  • Bring necessary materials, completed assignments and homework

As the PARENT/GUARDIAN, I will:

  • See that my child is well rested, attends school and arrives on time everyday
  • Maintain an open line of communication with my child’s teacher
  • Provide a home environment that encourages my child to learn, read and complete all homework assignments
  • Talk with my child about his/her school day
  • Support, encourage and reinforce positive behavior, rules and expectations both at home and at school
  • See that my child comes to school prepared and ready to learn
  • Model and encourage my child to be respectful and take ownership for his/her actions
