ITroop meeting assignments - Updated assignments for December

IIQuartermaster Report (Discuss last troop campout)

a.Missing camping equipment – need more stakes for 2-3 tents, small cooking fly

b.Camp equipment in need of repair– need to replace 1 of the 2 shovels that is broken

c.Improvements for next campout – need heavy duty stakes for large dining fly, need hand sanitizers

IIIDiscuss Webelocampout (ASMs were Mr. Homewood & Mr. Hutchings, activities cooking merit badge .)

  1. Review Activities – will do same activities next year but incorporate the buddy system for the monkey bridge (note: campout should be 3rd week of October)

VINew business TBA Greg Homewood (Ron Hutchings filled in )

  1. Merry Cary parade ? TBA by Greg Homewood. Scouts discussed that they did not want to march as a group like all the other scout organizations in Cary. Scouts want to ride in a pick-up truck with a tent in it and pull the troop trailer and a few scouts pulling Klondike sleds next to trailer throwing candy with a scout thought.
  2. Scouts want to do a test run of the old sleds on January 3rd at LionsPark or CUMC..
  3. Scouts want to build a new sled from a 55 gallon drum that they saw last year – Sam S. is coming up with the plans
  4. Scouts discussed when they want to build the sled planning and possible construction starting at January 4th troop meeting and also January 18th which is NOT a troop meeting on the calendar.
  5. Christmas party at Greg Homewood’s house TBA. What food can we bring and should we bring musical instruments.
  6. Scouts want service hours to be organized by a scout leader along with an adult leader. Ideas were Mr. Paul SanFilippo, Sr., and/or Mr. Bruce Oberlies
