Woodridge Storm U18 Boys

Players with birthdates between 8/1/1994 and 7/31/1995
The Woodridge Storm Soccer Club is holding tryouts for the U18 boys’ soccer team for Spring 2013. The current U17 boys’ team plays in the Northern Illinois Soccer League in Premiership 2. They are currently 6-0 with six shutouts in league play. Overall record at this time is 10-2-1. All players must check in prior to tryouts. A $10 fee and waiver signature are required for registration and includes a tryout t-shirt to be worn at tryouts. Please arrive 15 minutes before tryouts begin. Each player should have a size 5 ball, shin guards, cleats and water.

What to Expect
We currently play in the U17 Premiership 2 Division but the goal will be to move up to the Premiership 1 level next spring. Based on our performance in Premiership 2 this season with a 6-0 record, six shutouts, and a 10-2-1 record we believe we will take the next step next spring into Premiership 1. This past season the Storm went 3-1 at the Mid America College Showcase and 1-1-1 at the Nike Academy College Showcase. We are also participating in the Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Showcase this June. We may have two spots open for our team next spring.
Our team will play in NISL during the spring season. If we are to make Premiership league again we would play all games in Schaumburg. That is our goal. We will play in a minimum of three tournaments. One or two of the tournaments could be out of state and will require a hotel stay. We will also play a 15-game indoor season at the MAX Indoor Facility in McCook/Bridgeview. We will practice three times a week for 2 hours during the spring and will also utilize the services of a trainer. Also included will be Goalkeeper Training once a week for our goalkeeper(s). Estimate a cost between $600 to $800.
Team Goal
Our practices focus on the development of each and every player. Our goal is to see development throughout the season, focusing on foot skills, fundamentals and team tactics. The next year will focus on developing the boys to be ready for varsity high school tryouts and preparing for the college recruiting process.

Coach Vosicky Background: I have coached travel and in-house soccer teams in Woodridge since 1989. I currently coach the Woodridge U17 boys’ and the U13 boys’ White team. I have coached the current group of U17 players since they were U8. I played in the 1980s at Downers Grove North High School and one season with College of DuPage. Our current U17 Storm players all play high school soccer and have been involved with the Woodridge Storm for many years. They now play at Downers Grove South, Downers Grove North, Naperville North, Benet Academy, Timothy Christian and Hinsdale South
