- All captains and co-captains, new players and anyone who needs to update information with us needs to complete an app or update via member login.
- Team names must be changed prior to us doing schedules. Once schedules are done, we don’t redo for team name changes.
- Folks who have been “locked in” – (i.e. have an NLA – National Lowest Attainable) skill level do have a process for appealing it. You are not locked in forever. If you believe you have an NLA and it is not indicative of your current ability, please contact our office for info on the appeal process.
- Be sure all new players complete and app and pay their $25 the 1st night they play! This helps ensure that the captain doesn’t get stuck with the bill! And, all memberships must be paid by week 4 or lose points – refer to by-laws.
- Tricup Info/Wildcard Tourny:
-We will be calling the teams that get drawn into the wildcard tourny. If
we cannot reach eitherthe capt /or co-capt, we will go on to the next
team, so be sure you have current numbers on file (update through
member site).
-Once both tournament brackets are finalized, we will post brackets on our site. For all Tricup weekends (including wildcard tourney & Vegas Cups – always plan for entire weekend to be safe).
-Any buy-ins due ($100 TP and W/C) must be paid in cash at the tournament prior to playing your first round.
-You should check eligibility of your players for the Tricup with us during office hours prior to the tournament so there are no surprises.
- VEGAS CUP: Again, due to the back to back tournaments, the brackets for the Vegas Cup will only be posted on our site and will be done so asap following the Tricup – but they might not go up until the Thursday before!
- Who plays in the Spring Tricup and Vegas Cup? Only the eligible members of your Spring roster. Regardless of when you qualified for the Vegas Cup, it is your Spring roster that plays in that event. Each session following your qualification, you must have retained a minimum of 4 members from the original qualifying team.
- To play in local playoffs, players only need 4 scores with your team. To play in Tricup, they need 10 scores prior to the event (and 4 with your team in the Spring). Summer session scores do not count towards the 10 – those 10 must have occurred by the final week of Spring Playoffs.
- SL for Vegas Cup – the players’ highest session-ending record since the team became qualified for the Vegas Cup.
- Pay your dues on the team and in the packet of the team that reaches week 4 first, EVEN IF YOUR TEAM HAS A BYE IN ANY OF THE 1ST 4 WEEKS!
- Don’t turn a Monday scoresheet and dues in with a Wed packet – it will be late!
- Patches from final week of session and playoffs will be sent within the next few weeks.
- Past dues & credits from this past session will be carried over immediately for teams still playing. Teams that ended owing $ will have it divided and listed individually next to players names within next few weeks and must be paid prior to playing or lose points – same for bad checks.
- Going to two tables at required time is not an option if table is available (unless both teams agree not to). When teams don’t have 2 tables/match (ex. ML in-house), the team that is farthest behind in the match gets 1st dibs.
- Smoking: no smoke breaks during individual matches.
- Remind that scorekeepers are to put their initials next to matches they score and that a line to be drawn through defensive shots section when none are played! This helps us recognize where problems may exist – don’t just copy and agree!
- Both teams are required to turn in complete sheets each week – if opponent kept score, you also need to transfer the info to your sheet so it is complete (no tic marks, but all other info so we know you didn’t score it). Why? If no opponent sheet and yours in incomplete, we can’t score it, or use for handicap review.
- Bye in final week? Must be paid for in full by final week or points are not awarded and team not charged. Final week is only week you can do this.
- Packets are to be turned in on time every week – especially for final week of session so we can get standings updated and wildcards drawn for playoffs – don’t risk being late in final week even if you weren’t “caught” at being late before.
- Sandbagging is a hard word to be used and a hard one to prove, so the word should not be used loosely. If you believe someone is intentionally missing shots, that would be a defensive shot and should be marked as such. Each match should be scored as you see it and doesn’t necessarily have to agree with the opponent’s. If as a scorekeeper you are unsure if the player played a defensive shot, feel free to ask. – all scorekeepers should have watched the video on our site or shouldn’t be keeping score! Continued disregard for proper scorekeeping could result in skill levels being raised, points being lost, etc. – we have done this!
- Anybody who calls someone a “sandbagger” or “cheater” during matches should be written up for poor sportsmanship – happens again – stronger penalties will apply.
- Don’t think we don’t “handle issues.” Six people were suspended from APA this past session for various reasons ranging from continued poor sportsmanship to cheating (to include knowledge of and not reporting cheating).
- Please don’t say to other players that they are underrated and that they will be “going up!” No player in our league, including Reps has that knowledge and shouldn’t act as if they do. Plus, it’s certainly discouraging to a player who especially is new to the league and having a good night, doesn’t even know what you’re talking about.
- All teams have been given a copy of the schedule in their week 1 packet as well as a copy to give to your home location if applicable – please give to them if requested by us!
- Reminder to Div Rep’s: you are to carry your rulebook/bylaws and capt/co-capt phone # lists with you on league nights and have your cell phone on and be available on your league nights from 7 until 10:00 p.m. You can print the capt/co-capt list for your division from our website once available.
- Not all holidays are given off during league schedules – check schedules early to see if scheduled to play on a holiday you want to reschedule & get with opposing team. Rescheduled matches CAN be played before the scheduled date – doesn’t have to be after!
- Also, if you find that your team is advancing to the Nationals in August, you should make arrangements early to do a make-up match. For that week, as it’s the end of the session, you will need to make it up before the scheduled match..
- Playoff matches are NOT to be rescheduled
- Don’t add and play players after week 4 if you didn’t get our prior office approval, – if you do, it will be forfeit even if opponent agreed (exception, if you left us a message during office hours, but we didn’t get back to you). You are however still responsible for playing player at correct rating or lose points. If unsure, play at higher rating if you must play them that night.
- This players meeting is just that – for all players! Ignorance to rules is no excuse – captains get a rulebook/by-laws for free when they become a captain. Anyone else can request one and receive one for $5.00. Or, our rules and bylaws and minutes from these meetings are also listed on our site.
