Players, and Parents Code of Conduct Agreement

The Parents and Players agree to the following standards when theyare involved in team sports. We believe that each participant whether aplayer, coach or parent owes something to the team and the necessarycohesiveness required from playing a team sport.

PLAYERS

Acceptable standards of player behavior include:

1. Treat opponents with respect; shake hands prior to and after contests.

2. Respect the judgment of officials and abide by the rules of the contest.

3. Accept seriously the responsibility of representing your family and theschool by displaying positive behavior at all times.

4. Play in a positive manner, reflecting core ethical values. Physical andverbal abuse will not be tolerated! Racial slurs of any kind will not be tolerated!

PENALTIES

Any player ejected from a game because of unsportsmanlike conduct will besuspended from the next game and may be subject to additional penalties by theappropriate sport commission.

PARENTS AND SPECTATORS

Acceptable standards of spectator behavior include:

1. Remember that the players are young people and receive benefits from themental messages that can be applied to life.

2. Remain seated in the spectator area during the games.

3. Respect decisions made by contest officials.

4. Be a role model by positively supporting teams and by not shoutinginstructions or criticism to the players, coaches, or officials. Do not coachfrom the stands!

5. Make no derogatory comments or gestures to players, coaches, spectators ofthe opposing team, officials, or league administrators.

Remember that coaches and parents set the example for the behavior of theirteam’s fans. If you see fans of your team behaving in a negative manner,please try to appeal to their conscience at an appropriate time.

PENALTIES

Any spectator who displays poor sportsmanship may be removed from thefacility by an official, their team coach, a league official, or the host gym supervisor.Any spectator, who interferes with the conduct of an activity, at thediscretion of the spectator’s school, league, can be barred from attendance atsubsequent athletic activities.

ENFORCEMENT

The Athletic Coordinators, under the supervision of the principal, shallenforce this code. Complaints regarding violations of this code shall befirst brought to the attention of the appropriate Administrators. Coaches,participant’s spectators may be placed on probation or suspended from activities for their actions.
