Player “Code of Conduct Agreement”
I understand that travel softball is a highly competitive sport and there are no guarantees as to the amount of playing time or position that I will receive. I am aware that the club will have limited membership, and as such that each player’s participation is crucial in maintaining the high standards of play we are striving to attain.
I understand that it is my responsibility to attend all team functions and abide by the coaches directives while at team functions. I understand that the goals of playing in the Michigan Rage Fast Pitch Softball Association are to have fun, develop my softball skills and create team spirit.
I agree I will:
1.Respect the game, my teammates, my coaches, the opponent, the umpires, my parents and spectators.
2.Always show up on time for practices, games and team events.
3.Work hard for myself and my team by giving my best effort in practices and games – hustle all of the time.
4.Never fault a teammate when a mistake occurs; I will be encouraging.
5.Use positive language (body and verbal), to cheer on and support my teammates.
6.Never use profane language, alcohol, tobacco or illegal drugs, or violence at any practice, game or team event.
7.Never argue with an umpire’s decision, this includes verbally or with negative body language.
8.Follow the direction of the coaching staff and support a coach’s decision.
9.Settle disagreements with coaches and other players in a confidential / private manner after games and practices and away from other players.
10.Demonstrate good sportsmanship - includes accepting winning or defeat with dignity at all times.
11.Lead by being a good example for my teammates – treat each one fairly.
12.Refrain from throwing bats, gloves, helmets or other equipment for any reason.
13.I will not engage in any negative, derogatory, embarrassing, offensive, rude or otherwise unacceptable use of social networking towards any coach, player, umpire, parent or anyone associated with Michigan Rage Fastpitch. I understand this will not be tolerated whatsoever. I understand that if I put anything on any social networking site (or participate in unacceptable postings) it can result in disciplinary action up to and including expulsion from the team.
Violations of any of the above policies are subject to disciplinary action up to suspension or expulsion.
