STORY OF THE PLAY

The play is a comedy, inspired by the 2015 Powerful Ambassador Women, Google and The Economist articles on the weaker sex. It is both dramatic and amusing, with interactions of the past, present and the possible future, with women taking power and becoming superior to men in the 21st century. The men have the C &C (cash and contacts). Is the women empowerment revolution possible?

In the UK, Kate sets the need for the revolution, to be financed by a new screenplay competition with a five million dollar prize, on women empowerment . Her husband Bill is firmly opposed. They invite two very strong women to spend three days to develop the screenplay. discussing women empowerment, and forming a Campaigner Group (CG) for action to achieve it. Reve (USA) in favour and Pamela (UK) against.

The group uses Googleto provide interactive contactsto stimulate discussion on the role of women in politics of the past and the present, with help from various eminent speakers. They recognize the disasters in politics dominated by power seeking men, who promote wars and created suffering for children, with effects over many generations.

The Campaign Group gets an unexpected a visit from two powerful feminists Sabeen and Bella, both threatened with assassination, who encourage them to take action for a more peaceful world. Will they achieve women superiority in the 21st century? Popular actresses seek to play a role in the future screenplay film if accepted.

In Act 3, there is an international convention of powerful women ambassadors, and support from the past which stimulates new ideas on how to get votes for women power for afuture. The Campaign group plans to win the screenplay competition to provide funding for a future revolution, They explore many changes in UK and USA, that powerful women might achieve in the future, with the strongest values for family, children, peace and not war.

Key theme: Once accepted as equal to a man, the woman becomes his superior (Socrates).

ACT 1 – THE PRESENT

SCENE 1 - Home with Kate and husband Bill.

DARKENED STAGE WITH SILENT INTRIGUING PROCESSION LED BY BILL LOOKING SUPREMELY CONFIDENT WITH SAD DESPERATE KATE BEHIND, FOLLOWED BY A SLAVE DRIVER (HENRY VIII) WHIPPING TWO UNHAPPY SLAVE WOMEN (PAMELA & REVE).

Designed to intrigue the audience showing the domination of men over women. Repeated at the end of the play showing the changes that could happen with the revolution.

THEN LIGHTS DOWN, PAUSE, LIGHTS UP, GOOGLE TAKES OVER. WITH KATE AND BILL AT HOME.

Males dominating females. Bill and Kate come in deep in arguments.

B: Hey, stop it. Stop it, please! You convinced me! We will take part in this screenplay competition!

K: At last!

B: But it is still amazing – do they really pay 5 million dollar just for the screenplay.

K: It is not just a screenplay competition – it’s going to be a bigger movie. It is going to be a revolution! And I want a revolution! I am so happy we can earn this lot of money and start our New Amazon movement!

B: Yes dear Kate. And if I win in Euromillions and I will support you.

K: Thank you. But seriously Bill, I am so glad you agreed to take part in it. I am inspired by the recentpowerful women ambassador video on peace negotiations, and by Google reports … and by The Economist being brave enough to publish articles on man as the weaker sex in 2015. So today we are going toplan how we can create a brilliant screenplay for Women Empowerment’s revolution in the world!

B: Women empowerment revolution! Absolutely impossible!!! The men are too strong for you, Kate! But I am pleased to help you, dear.

K: Yes dear but the new truth of women empowerment is coming. And every challenging new truth goes through three stages: ridicule, rejection and finally gentle acceptance.

B: Yes dear, but empowerment depends on money and at the moment most of the moneyis in the hands of themen.

K: But what about personal values? Or is cash the key to change? Perhaps I am after your cash, Bill? So it is very brave of you to be involved. I know how strongly you believe in male supremacy. It is one of your things.

B: My thing as a doctor is preventive health care for a healthy life style. I don’t believe you women are superior to men, but I am always happy to talk about it … and perhaps achieve the impossible… convince you … to change your mind.

Google appears

G: Cheers!

B: What? Who is that? Am I going mad?

K: It is Google.

B: Google? Ah…that one…from computer? But he is not real!

K: Not real? Perhaps he is more real than you and me…

B: But what he’s doing here – in our house?

K: You can’t stop him now…he’s everywhere and knows everything. And…maybe he will help us with our screenplay…

G: No problem! I will help you, Kate!!! Cheers!

Google drinks not wine but electricity.

K: We need to write a screen play that can win the competition and help us to make a women empowerment revolution in the world for peace, health care, non-violence, individual freedom, child security and social welfare etc. Is that enough, Google?

G: No problem. You start the draft and I will help you with all my might to fill it with the greatest characters ever! Cheers!

B: Yes …for the last 4000 years men have definitely been superior to women. So how can your ideas of Women Empowerment, really become a reality in 2015? It would take a long long time … perhaps a thousand years …

G: Perhaps, once accepted as equal to men, the women do become superior - Socrates.

K: Thank you dear, and in 2015, most womenbelieve they are already superior to men. For years you men have dominated us women … we have allowed it to happen …But not now…

B: Thank you, dear!!! In or out of bed?

K: Both. Yes, you were physically stronger and so useful for the old battles. But no more please! With electronic developments we don’t need your muscles any more. We no longer depend upon muscles, but on brains. Your muscles are out of date!!!And we will be equal in bed too!!!

B: So women are beginning to take over with a revolution like the Amazons? And what happened to them? Where are they now? The Amazons were very good with bows and arrows.

K: Exactly now, the new Amazons!!! Thank you for our new name, Bill. Yes dear, because women can now do any job and could take control with just an electronic dick. Oops sorry, I mean click. The world has changed, Bill.

B: OK. New Amazon!!! Good title for our futuristic screenplay, as long as people don’t think it’s an update of an on-line shopping site. But I am not sure we are able to write this script. We simply have no knowledge and experience…

K: And we have just 3 days to submit our masterpiece.

B: O dear!

K: So I have invited Pamela and Reve.

B: Are they professional writers?

K: No, but they are professionals, activists of Campaigner Groups of women, who have inspired me.

B: So many women groups are active now. Should they be gently banned? But we still don’t know what plot and what characters will be in our script…

K: I want to get women into power ASAP … as soon as possible!. And that is our plot and characters! You see? Our script about New Amazons and The Weaker Sex (you dear!!!) will be super-popular, both for the screenplay and our strategy for the coming revolution!

G: Once a woman is equal to man, she becomes superior!!! The men will be terrified.

B: Weaker sex? I don’t think I will qualify to join as a member of your group, without a bit of surgery.

K: Not necessary just now, Bill, Perhaps worthwhile later. I will keep it in mind!!

B: Thank you dear. You’re all heart!

K: OK, so I will bring my two friends to come and help us. Pamela is a dynamic young social worker and Reve, an older very active psychiatrist.

B: Excellent. I am always ready to learn.

K: Sometimes true, Bill. I hope you are strong enough for three tough days with women without any sex. Perhaps it will both change your mind, and … also inspire them to join our project.

B. Have you planned for lunch including New Amazon wine to inspire us?

K: Of course, dear. Even a gin and tonic. I know your preferences.

BELL RINGS

K: Oh that must be them. Bill, please be on your best behavior and don’t grill them on your old themes of preventive health care for a healthy sex life. Agreed?

B. Agreed. Until I get to know them better.

ENTER PAMELA & REVE

K: Pamela. Welcome for Women Empowerment Revolution day. I want reinforcement for women for a revolution! You both know my husband Bill. He is devoted to male superiority, so our three days of discussion should be fun.

G: Reinforcement for the women! Agreed!!!

R: What was that?

K: That was Google. He is helping us.

P: Great! Hello Google!

G: Cheers!

B: So happy to meet you all. Hoping to learn a lot from you powerful women.

K: Flattery will get you everywhere, Bill.

R: I have done all of the research you suggested.

G: With my help…?

K: Of course. Great!

R: I am intrigued by your invitation to discuss Women Empowerment. As a psychiatrist, I think it’s a great idea, and should become a political reality in the world. But not a violent revolution please.

K: We are in a screen play competition to win $5 million to finance our project. So we have to write the script-manifesto.We already have a title - The New Amazons and the Weaker Sex!

R: New Amazons? By the way, what did happen to the old ones? Were they all killed off in battles?

P: The screenplay must be exciting. But no violent revolution please.

K: Yes. We shall see. I want a dramatic inspiring, sometimes hilarious discussions.

R: That should inspire us to do the impossible and create the best screenplay ever!.

K: But first a vote. Are we ready for the women empowerment revolution in the 21st Century, with the New Amazons? My vote – Not yet.

R: No!

P: No.

B: Definitely Not !!!

G: Google only gets criticized and never gets to vote.

K. Agreed! So the vote at the beginning of our discussion is: 0:4. Women empowerment revolution not yet possible in 2015. Let’s see how we change during thenext three days.

P: May I make a confession first. For me women empowerment is great in theory but not in practice. Men are permanently in control! The top 97% of the political and business world is so cleverly dominated by experienced old men, like Bill ….. who really believe in male superiority. Perhaps with 4000 years of experience, men do know best, how to manage things?

B: Agreed!!!

G: Perhaps the Tuareg tribe is one exception, where even the Muslim women still completely dominate the men.

K: Noted for the future. I understand you, Pamela, but if in 2015, we really believe that women and men are equal, then with democracy, there must be a way to achieve that equality in practiceat last in the 21st century..

P: May take twenty years?

B: Or a thousand? Well, you women do live ten years longer than we men do. But in the past, you have had a democratic voting majority, you have had time to take over. But you haven’t done it !! So my great minority of old men, who are often a bit obese, are still in control? Hooray! Just look on the political TVpresenters. Almost all men. Agreed?

K: Good point, Bill. So that is why we need to form a new dynamic women group, and find out how to do it. We need to motivate young women to change? Now Pamela, can you help us because as a social affairs specialist, you know so well the social history of the past.

P: The past. Right! I am a political skeptic. The past is full of political lies and oppression. It seems amazing to me now, that it was not until 1922 that the UK government gave women the right to vote, despite the Suffragette movement of struggle for over 100 years.

B: Not my fault. I was not there.

G: Do men really believe they can change really determined women?

K: No, we have to use as many GOOGLE personal interactions from eminent people in the past, present and the future, as we can, to provoke and inspire us, and convince the men.

B: And it will be a great character collection for the movie! The audience will love historical and futuristic costumes…

R: Can we chat with them? All for fun with rude questions?

G: Of course. I will arrange everything.

B: Hooray! We will organize a spiritual session… (changing his voice) “Oh, spirit of great Peter O’Toole come to us!”

P: Oh, not him! He was too rude!

K: We don’t need these archaic spiritual sessions. We have Google!.

G: At your service. Cheers!

K:Women empowerment in the future… It will help us to create our great script and revolution manifesto!

P: OK: So lets make it dramatic and fun from today? Agreed?

G: Starting right now with Herodotus and the Amazons, that you wanted to know about.

B: My reaction –Rubbish! The Amazons never existed. It was all Greek mythology!!

PAUSE

DARKNESS

SCENE 2

LIGHTS UP

G: So now I bring news of the ferocious Amazons, related in 484 BC by the great Herodotus. Welcome.

VERY DRAMATIC CHARACTER - WITH AN ANCIENT WISE VOICE

H: Thank you. I am Herodotus, and I wrote so much about the time of 1400 BC when fierce female warriors known as Amazons lived in the Middle East. Greek raiders captured them and locked them in the hold of their ships and set sail for home. The Amazons escaped, recovered their weapons and killed all the Greek raiders.

K: Why?

G: Women are very tough, but they conceal it so carefully. But this time, they overdid it. They should have saved one man.

H: So how to escape? They were very sexy horsewomen and didn’t know how to sail boats. They needed just one man to sail the boat. Too late. The men had all passed on! So they drifted off to the Crimea, and when ashore, stole horses, and set up the Amazon community of fighting women. They only had sex once a year at a festival to preserve tribal continuity. They kept their daughters and gave away their sons, to keep women power in the tribe.

P: Did they really exist.

H: Yes, they are part of so much Greek history, and the graves of so many armed Amazon female warriors have been discovered.

R: How did they fight?

H: They fought all of their own battles on horseback. Perhaps it satisfied their sexual needs? They certainly achieved independence anddominated men for generations. Horses are very sexy!

G: With women in control, they believed that they did not need men.

B: Except once a year, when we were very handy? Understatement!!

H: Well, they had control for centuries until the men took over later.

K: That was 1400 BC. Could it happen again?

H: Perhaps? Who knows what women may decide to do? Men don’t!!

G: Women are so discreet.Takes about 20 years to find out what your wife is really like.

B: Sex only once a year? I suppose for an Amazon that might have been enough. Alas, not for men. So the women gave the boys away. We were just not needed? Shame indeed.

K: You are needed, Bill, We do like to have you around … not all time … but occasionally.

G: Women are so discrete.

B: Once a year thank you, dear. Now I feel better. I do hope I am not too aggressive, today. In past, we men were aggressive. Must confess we men do love battles. To prove our manhood in war and in politics? And of course our superiority over women!

H: Yes, and the women allowed it, because they had much wider interests. The men seem to love only conflicts.

R: Perhaps this was an excess Testosterone problem, which needed a bit of medication?

H: Testosterone problem? After my time.

K: Not your problem, Bill.

B: No, I am too old now. But young men do seem to love battles. Even football and rugby gives the young men the excuse to be violent and enjoy riots.
