P280.1 7 South Avenue, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9QB (HP/12/02245/FUL) Partial demolition of a rear extension and the construction of a ground floor family room and office area. To the first floor an extension to the existing second bedroom to accommodate an ensuite.
RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.
P280.2 6 St Lawrence Way, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9SH (HP/12/02464/FUL) Proposed 2 storey side extension, roof lacerations and loft conversion.
RECOMMENDATION: Refusal. Contrary to Policy H9, out of scale with surrounding buildings.
P280.3 36 Western Road, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9TA (HP/12/02468/LDC) Rear dormer. This is an application to establish whether the development is lawful. It will be a legal decision and the planning merits of the development cannot be taken into account.
RECOMMENDATION: Refusal. Dormer size not in accordance with the District dormer policy guidance.
P280.4Malt House, Malthouse Lane, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9JZ (HP/12/02489/FUL) Proposed single storey extension to rear and detached double garage.
RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.
P280.5 Kents Farmhouse, Malthouse Lane, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9JZ (HP/12/02527/LBC) Existing outbuilding is to be refurbished from an existing store and workshop into a playroom with an adjacent shower room. The outbuilding and adjacent store are to have their flat roofs replaced with reclaimed plain tile pitched roofs and a new brick outer leaf wall to cover up the existing brick and clock mixture, all to match the existing adjacent buildings.
RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.

P280.7Hornsdene Cottage, Pookbourne Lane, Sayers Common, BN6 9HD (HP/12/01437/FUL) Application amended (25th July 2012) to provide further details of proposed use – Description amended: Re-siting of 2 no. stables/outbuildings and erection of 1 no. new outbuilding, to be used as livery for up to 5 horses.
RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted. A condition be applied that the building is only used by the occupant of the house.
P280.8 Kingsland Laines, Reeds Lane, Sayers Common, BN6 9JG (HP/12/01540/OUT) Outline application for 120 dwellings (including 30% affordable housing), community facility, office space, care home, retail units with primary access off the B2118 (London Road) with some matters reserved. Revised Design and Access Statement and Illustrative Site Layout received 30th July reducing scale of nursing home to 2 storeys. It was noted that the earlier application had been considered by the Committee on 21 June 2012 and agreed a recommendation to refuse permission. After due consideration the Committee agreed that the reasons for refusal have not changed due to the change of design of the Nursing Home.
RECOMMENDATION: Refusal. Unsustainable development not in proportion to the size of the existing settlement; contrary to Parish Plan objectives (2011) and Neighbourhood Plan targets (2012); contrary to MSDC Rural Issues Background Paper (2009) for capacity of the settlement; inadequate measures for sustaining surface water drainage systems; proximity of access to existing roundabout on London Road; excessive travel to work and school distances and deficit of public transport.
P280.9 Potters, London Road, Sayers Common, BN6 9HT (HP/12/02063/FUL) Single storey front extension to create porch.
RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.

P281.1 9A High Street, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9TT (HP/12/02457/TCA) Goat Willow – Reduce canopy by 40% due to excessive shading. RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.
P281.2 9A High Street, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9TT (HP/12/02458/TCA) Goat Willow – Coppice to 5m above ground level. RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.
P281.331 Nursery Close, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9WA (HP/12/02511/TREE) Reduce entire canopy by 2/3m.RECOMMENDATION: Permission be granted.
P281.4 Lodge Cottage, South Avenue, Hurstpierpoint, BN6 9QB (HP/12/02535/TCA) Ash (T1) – fell – it is leaning over the access road causing difficulty for certain sized vehicles to get by. Birch (T2) – Reduce and reshape overhang to lodge cottage boundary by approx. 30% and lift crown to approx. 4m – this is to reduce encroachment to lodge cottage and open up the view towards wolstonbury whilst retaining the aesthetics of the area.
