Education
Pietro Palma graduated from the University of Bologna, Laurea in Medicina e Chirurgia cum laude. Otorhinolaryngology and Cervico-Facial Surgery, University of Sienna, Italy.
Fellowships in rhinology and facial plastics in several centres, in Europe and the USA.
Publications
PietroPalmahaspublishednumerousscientificpapers,mainlycoveringthetopicsofrhinoplasty. His paper on Hybrid Rhinoplasty has been published in the journal Archives ofFacial Plastic Surgery in 2010.
He co-authored two textbooks and authored several chapters in international textbooks. The most recent chapters have been published on Advanced Therapy in Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (Thomas, published by PMPH-USA), European Manual of Medicine - Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery (Anniko et al, published by Springer) and Rhinoplasty: A Practical Guide (Godin, published by Thieme). His chapter on "Rhinoplasty: Endonasal Strategies" will appear in the textbook “Master Techniques in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery” to be published in 2012.

Conferences and Teaching
Pietro Palma has given numerous presentations at national and international meetings on rhinoplasty. He is now a well recognized rhinoplasty surgeon and lecturer and has been invited to lecture in a large number of congresses and courses: Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Colombia, Croatia, Denmark, Egypt, Emirates, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Iran, Ireland, Israel, Korea, Kuwait, Lebanon, Lithuania, Mexico, Morocco, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, The Netherlands, Tunisia, Turkey and USA.
In 2001 he established together with prof. Paolo Castelnuovo the biennial “International Milano Masterclass”, a high value educational event on endoscopic sinus and skull base surgery, rhinoplasty and facial plastic surgery.The 6th edition in March 2011 was attended by over 600participants coming from 58 different countries. The 7th edition will be held in March 22-26, 2013.
Pietro Palma is on the editorial board for the scientific journals “Sleep and Breathing” and “Archives of Facial Plastic Surgery”.
Pietro Palma is co-editor in chief of the Internet.based journal “Rhinoplasty Archive”.
