Meeting Minutes
Date: March 18, 2013
Location: Piedmont High School Band Room
Meeting Called to Order: 7:00 pm
Minutes of Prior Meeting:
1. Minutes from February meeeting were motioned, accepted and 2nd
Treasurer Report
1. This was distributed
2. $2,000.00 was transferred to savings as discussed in February
3. Report were motioned, 2nd and accepted
New Business
A. Mr Lukac keeps liability insurance cards on him at all times if needed when pulling trailers
B. Silent Auction/Spaghetti Dinner
1. Need help cooking on Friday at about 3 pm
2. Roger will make tea and lemonade
3. Will be held in The Ark at the church and seats 400-600 people
4. Brian Austin has a box of hamburgers from previous event and will be used in the spaghetti sauce
5. Instead of tickets being sold, you go online to reserve your seats and pay at the door. Info will be on website
6. Deadline to donate items is 3/28/2013
7. Roger has about $175.00 in gift cards to purchase items and will take about $300.00 to purchase everything not donated
8. Selling 60 tickets will cover the expenses
9. What do we do with what does not sell? Hold onto it or give back. Depends if the donor received the form to taxes
C. Voting for officers
1. President – Kerry Zuchowski
2. VP – Sherry Williams
3. Secretary – Tabith Williams
4. They start the 2 year term on April 1, 2013
5. Secretary – Celeste Horne has one year remaining
D. Nascar Races
1. Can make about $4000.00 for both races
2. Needing 25 students and 15 adults for each race
3. Looking at dirt track and drag strip
E. Florida Trip
1. Approval through Downtown and Administration
2. Using Burke Tours
3. Hotel will be about $2.00 more a night
4. Disney tickets increased about $15 a ticket
5. Was $465.00 last year and will be $520.00 this year
6. Students riding with parents will need to buy the performance ticket through Mr Lukac
F. Painters looking to do all rooms and all will need to be emptied at year end
G. Rookie night
1. Moved to April 18, 2013 at 7 pm
2. Band booster meeting moved to April 18, 2013 at 6:30
3. Lynn will need help setting up and serving
H. BOA’s
1. Wake Forest has a home game so we will not be going
2. Looking at Appalachian State University with 42 bandds
3. Atlanta – this will be year 5 and decision will made if we continue to perform
I. Mr Lukac thanked Teresa, Larry and Laurie for their time as an officer
J. Parade banner
1. Budget was set at $1,000.00
2. Cost was $1,000.00 but the money was in the school account so that was used
At 7:40 meeting was motioned to adjourn and seconded
