CALL TO ORDER

Ms. Thomas called the meeting to order at 2:04 p.m.

REVIEW OF MINUTES

The council reviewed the February 20, 2007 minutes for approval. Ms. Stokley moved, seconded by Dr. Khan, to approve the minutes as written. Motion passed unanimously.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Recommendations from Subcommittee based upon their Review of the List of Substantially Related Crimes Concerning Rule 29

The council tabled discussion of the Subcommittee’s recommendations concerningthe list of Substantially Related Crimes concerning Rule 29, until the April 17, 2007 committee meeting. This was due to the fact that the subcommittee had not completed reviewing the list of crimes.

Proposed Rule Draft on Discussion of Limiting Online Courses for Continuing Education and Other Standardized Language

The council reviewed the proposed Rule and Regulation draft. Ms. Reardon explained that the purpose of the changeswere to define the numberofapproved/accredited continuing education hours thatmay be fulfilled by participating inonline courses.She indicated that she had added new standardized language foronline license renewal and attestation of continuing education. Changes were made to the draft. Ms. Reardon indicated that she would bring thechanges backto the next meeting for the council’s review.

NEW BUSINESS

Review Applications for Licensure as a Respiratory Care Practitioner

Ms. Selhorst moved, seconded by Ms. Resnik, to recommend that the following applicant be forwarded to the Board of Medical Practice for approval of licensure. Motion unanimously carried. The application submitted by Karl Uhlig was tabled due to the fact that he didn’t respond to question number 1, listed under Section V: Legal and Behavioral, on page 3 of his application.

Ciji Washington

Determine Percentage of Licensees for Post-Renewal Continuing Education Audit

The council determined that the random post-renewal continuing education audit would encompass 10% of the licensees.

Other Business before the Council

The council was advised that the proposed Rules and Regulations relating to Sections12.0 and 13.0, addressing the administration of sedation and analgesia, would be published in the Register of Regulations on April 1, 2007. A public hearing is scheduled for May 15, 2007 on the proposed Rules and Regulations.

The next meeting will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. in the 2nd floor Conference Room “B”, CannonBuilding, 861 Silver Lake Boulevard, Dover, Delaware.

Ms. Selhorst moved, seconded by Ms. Stokley, to adjourn. Motion passed unanimously. The meeting adjournedat 2:29 p.m.
