Dr. Colleagues,
I am writing to let you know of new DVT treatment options we recently added to our practice. With new data being presented and the recent changes in Guidelines for the treatment of Deep Vein Thrombosis, we are becoming more proactive with this therapy and are taking steps to help educate our community about the treatment options available to them. These new treatment options could provide improved clinical outcomes for your DVT patients.
However, without your help these patients may not be able to benefit from the improved outcomes these treatments may offer.
As trained endovascular specialists, one of our areas of clinical focus is thrombus management. Within our interventional toolbox, we have catheter-based technologies that aid in the removal of thrombus associated with DVT. The AngioJet™ Thrombectomy System is FDA cleared for intravascular removal of arterial and venous thrombus. This device acts as a vacuum to remove the obstruction and quickly restore flow, often times saving limb and life.
Removing the thrombus burden can potentially decrease the patient’s risk of developing long-term complications, while also increasing the chance for faster symptom resolution.
To support these treatment options, recent evaluations of interventional techniques to address DVT revealed 84% of the patients remained free from re-thrombosis at one year. Quality of life, mental and physical scores also showed continued improvement out to one year pointing towards long-term benefit.
Peripheral vascular disease is affecting millions of people and in the U.S. alone; approximately 900,000 patients are diagnosed with DVT annually. Our goal is to educate our fellow physician partners about these new treatment options to remove thrombus associated with DVT.
We would be pleased to arrange a meeting with you to present these new options and the benefits they may offer for your patients.
Included is some information about the treatment of DVT including patient education for your use. Additional copies of these are available through our office as well.
If you would like to consult with us regarding current cases, please call: NAME at NUMBER. Sincerely,
