YEAR 5/6 CAMP

PHILLIP ISLAND ADVENTURE RESORT

22nd – 24th APRIL 2014

Camps are a wonderful opportunity to implement a wide range of curriculum learning outcomes in outdoor education and for your child to experience and develop both socially and personally. We are always amazed at the responsible attitudes children show while they are away and the importance of the relationships they build with students, teachers and other adults. Very important is how their own self esteem develops as they become aware of their own capabilities and skills.

In 2014the Year 5/6 students will be attending camp at Phillip Island Adventure Resort. It is a fantastic chance for your child to experience a unique learning situation within a safe and friendly environment. The experienced staff and management of Phillip Island Adventure Resort are of a very high standard and pride themselves on ensuring our stay will be a wonderful experience.

The students become actively engaged in enjoyable educational activities whilst at camp, these include:

  • Smith’s Beach Walk
  • Giant Swing
  • Canoeing
  • Raft Making
  • Twin Flying Fox
  • Photo Hunt
  • Swimming Pool
  • Archery
  • Bouldering Wall

The cost of the camp includes the bus trip, two nights’ accommodation, all meals (except lunch on the first day which is brought from home) and a host of outdoor activities.

The camp is booked for Tuesday 22ndto Thursday 24th April, 2014(First Week of Term 2) with the students staying for 2 nights and 3 days.

Parent Helpers: Due to increased staff numbers, we will not be requiring parent helpers on camp.

COST/PAYMENT

As camp is booked for Term 2, it is imperative that we get a confirmation of your child’s participation so that staffing and camp activities can be finalised.
The cost of camp will be $250.

Although we realise this is not a small amount we can assure you of the many benefits of providing your son or daughter with this worthwhile and memorable experience.
