Description: Students will demonstrate the ability to practice health-enhancing behaviors and avoid or reduce health risks. First grade students will identify steps to maintain or improve personal health.

Act out different activities that will help your heart become stronger.

  • Inform students that each activity listed is a type of exercise.

Why is exercising important
  • Hold various pictures of physical and non-physical activities for students to identity.
  • Have students stand by chair and I will hold up directional sign from the Which Way Do I Go? Worksheet and call out different types of movement.
  • Have students make a booklet of 3 different exercises with 2 reasons of why exercising is important.
