The 1st Malaysian International Medical Student’s Conference will be the first of its kind held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It will be a platform for Medical Students from all around the world converge to present their latest findings in medicine, to learn from each other and to see Malaysia through the naked eye.

The theme of this conference is: Peace, War and Natural Calamities: The doctor in conflict. We shall explore the roles of medical personnel in areas of conflict, whether through natural calamities or in man made calamities. We shall also look at skills needed for a doctor to perform in these tough situations through the hands on workshops in the conference. The conference will start on the morning of the 4th of September and culminate on the night of the 6th, with a full day for you to explore Kuala Lumpur at your own pace, the next day.

Many interesting programs are being included and scheduled for the conference and we assure you that it would be something you have never experienced before. We aim to bring the very best Malaysian hospitality has to offer and confluence it with the highest levels of scientific presentations and educational workshops. We will ensure every cent you spent for your journey to Malaysia is worth it.

Abstract submissions are also now open, and the guidelines are available on our website. We offer attractive prizes for our poster and oral presentations. So, do submit your abstracts to us before 15th July 2009. Our registration closes on the 1st of August 2009.

Spend a few more days with us as we take you on our post conference tour of the pearl of the orient, Penang Island, which is approximately 4 hours away from Kuala Lumpur. Visit historical sites, mosques, Chinese, Buddhist and Indian Temples and savor authentic Malaysian food and follow our organized tour of UN’s Heritage sites. We shall depart Kuala Lumpur at midnight or early morning of the 8th of September and reach Penang early in the morning. We shall leave Penang on the 11th afternoon and aim to reach back by the night of 11th itself.

We recommend you arrive before the 4th and leave after the 11th to ensure you make the most of your trip. Accommodations prior to the conference date will be arranged for those who arrive earlier, at the conference hotel at a price of RM150 per night or USD 42.
